Not actually accurate. I hate to tell you, but the centre of Birmingham around the library, the Convention Centre and down to the canals is great. I prefer Sheffield for the folk and the banter, but in the 42 years since I moved down here they’ve made a good job of Brummagen! Also, they have a new mayor, Andy Street, who really knows how to get money in and get things done.

Incidentally, today was a shout out to Matt Prestridge - I thought to a man that we were fitter and better conditioned than them. Our top team is more than CWAK.

Smith signings Targett, Jota, Mings, Hause etc, people from the Championship or Prem that he has worked with previous, or will have contacts in common with.

The Douglas Luiz, Wesley, and Hassan (he's not actually called Trezeguet) stick out a bit to me.

I think he'd rather have signed Maupay or even Che Adams.

Thought Villa would struggle this year from the off. They were unconvincing last year and spent most of their huge outlay in the summer buying the same players who had been on loan with them last season and wasting the rest on players like Wesley.

I did wonder to myself why strikers with a poor return in the Belgian league were going for 22 m ( Wesley ) and there was another I can't quite remember
