He's not good enough. He might get to be good enough, but we need a keeper who instills confidence in the defence and he doesn't do that. None of them trust him.

I'm very appreciative of CW and all he's done for the club, but spending £18m on a bang / below average keeper was a big mistake. He's sticking to his guns though, and come hell or high water he's not changing the GK. Absolute stubbornness.

Two players that we’ve spent £36m on and aren’t ready for this league yet - Brewster & Ramsdale. Huge figure that for our football club to not improve the team
 
Numerous times this season, Ramsdale has gone to collect the ball and exert dominance and has effectively been told “fuck that I’ll deal with it” by his defenders. Happened twice today. Ramsdale statically PSxG (-2.0) is 3rd worst beaten by only Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Wolves Rui Patrício. Worryingly that suggests he has only conceded 2 more than expected. The best keeper in league currently (based on PSxG) is Fulhams Alphonse Areola at +5.6 and has a option to buy clause for around £10 million.

We also lead the way on errors leading to shots with 9 (2nd worst) in the division, behind Liverpool’s 10.

When he came out and completely missed the ball I thought this literally happens every game
 
His handling is woeful and outplay is garbage and i can see it getting worse before it gets any better, if that's possible, but the way things are going it's looking dire. Wilder needs to bench him just to try Verrips or Foderingham what we got to lose...

I've said it elsewhere but Wilder is playing him because he blew £18m on the kid and is now hoping he'll come good to save face.

Put a pissed off Kop behind him next season and he's going to make George Long look like Lev Yashin.

Come on Chappy he's not anywhere near as good as you are making out.
 
Anyone know if he's doing well over in Holland? I could be well better than Moore and league 1 Wes.
 
Yes, he's apparently been a revelation in Holland with Emmen, a Dutch friend of mine has told me Verrips will be a Netherlands international once he finds a settled club. They rate him very highly in his homeland.
 
There was a video on his Instagram story a day or two ago of him pulling an absolute worldie of a save out the bag, looked very impressive!
 



Not Wilder's choice so was never going to feature under him. We have a clear vacancy for someone to push Ramsdale as Foderingham is nowhere near the required quality while Moore and Eastwood are out of contact in the summer. There's a chance for him here if he wants it.
 
genuinely the most i’ve seen of this keeper was him walking into Two Steps chippy on a matchday

Nice height for a goalie that last one! I suspect he is probably as good if not better than Rammers but unlikely to want to play second fiddle in the English second tier. We do need a decent back up goalie if Verrips leaves, Fodz is League 1 standard at best, although he may be a cracking bloke can we take that chance if Rammers gets injured its season over...

Was looking at this the other day - looks like he's doing well so far, glad he's getting the chance to play. Actually has the 3rd highest % of shots saved ratio in the league behind Onana (Ajax - got banned for doping!) and Marsman (Feyonoord)
