Clear and obvious seems to be applicable to stockley Park when they see fit... Van Dyks handball? That’s either an urban myth or it’s been missold
Every goal is checked, if there’s an offside involved however slight it will be disallowed
Said this earlier in Shoutbox.
VAR official sponsor : The big six.
Cant be coincidence now. Can it ??
Well played boys today.
UTB
Each goal is reviewed, on review they think it is clearly and obviously offside, even though it is close and would have been allowed last year.
So they disallow it
Great ball from deep..... Loved it......Why does that matter?
Let's put our own house in order before bemoaning our bad luck again. If Mousset isn't scared of getting kicked in the face for his header then uses his left foot in the one on one we get a different result. I abhor VAR as much as the next person but it's the same end result for all teams. Disappointing end result but thought we gave it a real go and played to a plan that nearly worked.

Am I thick, but what is the big 6?
The core principles of VAR were reiterated. These are minimum interference for maximum benefit, maintaining the pace and tempo of Premier League football and correcting clear and obvious on-field errors.

Premier League statement on VAR
Implementation of VAR discussed at Shareholders' meeting where League and PGMOL commit to improvementswww.premierleague.com
I'll let you be the judge of if it's a myth or missold...
That's the problem - the offside law was designed to stop players gaining unfair advantage and if you're level with the last defender, you're onside. The interpretation of what is level is this issue and I'm afraid the fact we have dangly bits (arms, feet etc) means that there has to be a better definition of what is deemed to be level with play. Position of feet and/or position of torso relevant to other player, maybe? And finally, the final decision has to made by the ref on he field of play who can see (Lundstram) if, in a very tight decision, the offside player has attempted to NOT gain unfair advantage
No.This is a joke right?
From the press release you've quoted
"Last season match officials achieved 82 per cent KMI accuracy. With VAR this accuracy has risen to 91 per cent this season"
So, that's an alleged 10% increase in supposed accuracy of whatever the fuck "Key Match Indicators" are.
This is what's known as a Phyrric victory.
if VAR IS correct I need to see the length of the players toenails and a clear 1/2 mm line across the pitch to be exact to be sure it’s the correct decisionSome great posts on this thread and probably put into context all the incidents in today's games.
There is work to be done on the offside rule and that's generally accepted but I do have a feeling that defenders are a bit exposed by the current rule which is far more generous than the previous rule it replaced - previously the forward was ifoffside if level and that means the controversial armpits and toenails are actually a body and a bit beyond where they previously were allowed. The game was great before and after the rule change and it made the games more open
The Liverpool incidents were well handled and correct and so were ours.
Yes I am happy and proud but a little disappointed that we didn't score today, like we deserved to.
This is a step too far.
It’s a joke.
We can’t just stand and watch it ruin the sport
Start booong the premier league anthem.
Sing fuck var through out
Time to make a stand, because it’s gone too far.
Time to get rid of VAR
That is just effin bonkersThe most bonkers one of the season so far (and that's a fierce competition):

Pukki's second against Spurs, ruled out for the recently introduced offence of being NEARLY BUT NOT QUITE offside. Even when we're not playing VAR is conspiring against us by helping our Champions League rivals.
Like Souness's suggestion, turn it on its head.
If any part is onside then it's not offside.
might be wrong but I thought it is the receiving player who isn't offside if they are in their own half, don't think it makes a diff if the passer is, that was the original point I guess to stop long balls up to goal hangers, not players who have long toes
Actually not 1/2 mm it’s got to be 1/1000000000 if it’s correctly implementedif VAR IS correct I need to see the length of the players toenails and a clear 1/2 mm line across the pitch to be exact to be sure it’s the correct decision
