You seem very much in the know, tell us more.
It’s a pity our owners can’t be as forthcoming.Would have saved a lot of trouble and raised expectations
No, he's read the same as we all have.

And I'm sure it was 40m.
Can you point Slav in the direction of your reading material, he doesn’t appear to have got that memo either.

I'm not ITK mate I don't pretend to be that's just a little snippet I was told from one of his good friends last night and that we will know more when everything does come out. When that will be I wasn't told, but also said lunny was offered 35k a week to sign which would've made him the 3rd highest player at the club.

You’ll know what the twat was holding out for? Which he didn’t get at Rangers, signing on fee not withstanding.

I still think Van Wanker is at fault for our current predicament, hes incharge of the football side, he's the princes advisor on all football related matters across the group, he made the promises to Slav, and he hides behind the scenes, nothing ever heard from him??
Very very odd.
Nogood and Van Wanker, going to miss your well thought out and hilarious contributions when you go back to School

Ageeed Yogi, what’s more is that we have fanbase that is willing to make contradictory excuses for the shite show that’s been our recruitment this season (I am including myself in this).

At first, it was we haven’t missed out on targets, we are waiting for premier league teams to decide who’s included and who not, the assumption being we are going in for the top players. After the missing out/no enquiries for players like - Molumby, Garner, Sawyers, Hernandez, Sanderson, Chong, Poveda, Marcondes, Vrancic I hardly believe that to be true.

The next excuse is, well the above never came because we don’t have any money to sign them. The question is why chase and wait for players in knowledge we didn’t have the funds to sign them? Both of these facts cannot be true. We either had no money and were caught napping, or, we had money and were caught napping. It’s Really that simple.

Being caught out like this is a communications and organisational problem, I’m all for a DOF, because despite the prince having a problem with wilders interference, (which by the way limited our ability to make good in the transfer market when we actually had money) its clear many of the jobs he was heavily involved in never got covered adequately, I know we are desperate to throw mud at the recruitment department or Van Winckel I know I have, but on reflection so many elements of the build up to this season that different stakeholders are involved in haven’t gone right.

The search for a manager, long draw out process chasing the wrong target. (similar to our transfer dealings)
The non-exsistent preseason.
The evolution not revolution comments, then going the other way.
The decline in player standards.
The current transfer predicament.

All of these problems are solved if you have a specialist that understands them, a DOF would have sorted much of this out in the absence of wilder. Off the pitch is worryingly similar to on it because we don’t have the pieces in place to succeed without doing things the wilder way.

The parachute monies are designed to lessen the impact of PL wages in the championship. It really is that simple.
The Ramsdale money is a different question l agree, but no one outside the senior management at the club has any clue about the budgets or cashflow, no matter how much they pretend otherwise.
Having no gate money for 18 months must be taken into consideration.

Luckily, it wont be the one you hang about the gates of, thank God.

What about the 24 mill for Ramsdsle and the parachute money?
Not that simple is it?

Absolutely correct. The average loss per Championship club in 2017/18 was 23 million :https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-clubs-combined-operating-loss-510m-year.html
We have a guaranteed £119 million coming into the club over the next three years. If we are being run like an average Championship club there's no way that there isn't money there to spend. Our cost base on wages was only around 78 million (including bonuses) after the first Prem season which was the lowest in the prem.
https://www.planetfootball.com/quic...bill-compares-to-their-19-20-league-position/ This probably went up with a full year of Berge, Brewster and Ramsdale (Ramsdale offset by Henderson?) last season.
With no bonuses, big wage cuts (50%?), and some big names (higher earners) already having left the club that will come down. That said, I'm expecting sizeable losses in the next published accounts due to a full year of Covid and less prize money (from FA cup and the 9th placed finish). My guess is the money has been used to pay off the deficit from last year more so than this year. That said, there should still be money there. If we can't sustain the losses of an average Championship club we are likely to go through the leagues the wrong way. In that case things will turn very nasty very quickly imo. An owner without significant personal wealth should be nowhere near one of the larger Championship clubs imo. We are going to find out if that's the case with the Prince.

One or two occasionally but they tend to be the smaller clubs. Does that change anything?

It’s all about context. Football isn’t sustainable, clubs will post losses. The most effective owners are ones who are willing to bear the losses / invest to get up to the PL. More often than not, you see the relegated clubs that do this go straight back up or at least give it a go.

If the aim is to make us sustainable, it won’t happen. If PA doesn’t have the funds to do the above, we’ll bleed out slowly as the parachute payments diminish. If we gamble, we might not do it and end up in a mess, but we’re heading that way anyway. The latter is the only route to the PL looking at this squad.

For me, if we don’t get some inward movement sufficient to support SJ, if there’s any way of the fanbase pressuring PA to sell I’d do it. He’ll be forced to anyway as he won’t be able to support the club. Then we run the gauntlet of a new owner, understanding that 7-8/10 are useless, ride the tiger and see where it gets us.

Difficult to discuss the cashflow and profit/loss situation currently without knowing the results for the 20/21 year.

Jan Van Winckel has been in football for decades and his greatest achievement is that he was one of Marcelo Bielsa's assistants for one season. He has a job because the owner knows him from his time in Saudi Arabia. That's it. I'm not sure why anybody thought he was some sort of football guru who was going to unearth all these gems once Chris Wilder was out of the way.

I think the shifting fan narrative is based on the fact no one is party to the process that’s underway so we can only work backwards based off outcomes in order to construct that process.

Inknow the fan base would’ve kicked off but a DOF should’ve been appointed in conjunction with Slav. As once we knew he was going to be the new boss it was clear he wasn’t a traditional hands on manager and needed support in terms of the clubs off field activity.

Incapable guy and today for the first time the newspapers are pointing a finger in his direction for a disastrous transfer window that has caused a humiliating start of the new season. I hope they all leave as soon as possible. We were better managed in non league by our local pub manager.

Do you understand how football works?
Bloody hell BB. Does anybody know how football works?. It must be the most secretative business going. In a world where things have to be so transparent football still thinks it can work and deal with brown bags and lies.

The Prince is supposed to be really good at football manager, though. So he must know what he's doing.
