Absolutely cracking interview from Wilder. Exactly right that tomorrow is all about the players and manager who have achieved so much this season - and a celebration with the fans. Any transfer talk/rumours etc should not get in the way of that.

I loved the bit where he issued a veiled threat to Giddings and RS, with a friendly but firm comment about not wanting to fall out.

Very very firm(don't even think about it Giddings)but fair

Without wishing to get into any arguments, can i ask those saying that nobody run on the pitch, did you run on the pitch when you were younger,i know i did, every last game of the season, even when we beat Forest to finally win a game in the top league, let them run on,then get off so the players can receive the trophy and do a lap of honour.I will not have a go at todays young uns for doing something i used to do.
I for one have never run on the pitch and have been at all the promotion s.
Far better for everyone if we give the players the backing from the terraces, falling on deaf ears I know, but it's far more respectful to cheer from your seat
I am as passionate a blade as anybody but pitch invasions are childish and also dangerous to the players who get roughly man handled.
I don't say this as a.kill joy but like a lot of fans it will be an emotional time and tears will be she'd I'm sure.
30000 people apploading from the terraces would be some site ,enjoy !!!

Well said.

I too have been everywhere significant, except Northampton, since 1971 and have never felt the need to run on the pitch.

I have seen my other team Leeds RLFC win league titles, Challenge cup finals, Super League play offs, and many other major games where absolutely nobody has felt the need to run on the pitch.

When Newcastle were promoted in the week I noted that the Geordies felt no need to run on the pitch either.

Yet here we are 3 weeks after promotion and 4 games after becoming champions and still some people feel the need to disrupt proper celebrations.

I just don't get it.

Based on the pitch invasions that we've seen so far, I doubt that many of the target audience will respond to pleas or, indeed, be capable of reading them.....

Just reading some posts on VIP Blade from people saying that they are going on the pitch because it "shows passion".

I totally understood the invasions against Northampton. A release of emotion if you like. Doing it tomorrow when you've been asked by the manager not to and when your team are to do a lap of honour is phenomenally stupid

Only because the players would make mincemeat of anyone who did!
