Cheers for this mate. He has a little dig at the fans regarding JCR, what he doesn't realise is that the ones who don't want JCR, who asked for him to come off in certain games aren't necessarily the same fans who have wanted him to stay. I know i have never asked for him to come off, nor have i said i'm glad he's gone, i think what i'm trying to say is that Cloughy shouldn't be tarring every fan with the same brush.

Shouldn't be publically tarring any players or the fans, we are his customers

'Tbf' to Clough, if someone is hurling abuse at him for 90 minutes and Cloughy gives him the same back i don't see much wrong with that, free speech and all that. He has to realise when and how to do it in a better manner so that the whole fanbase aren't seen in the same way, he doesn't do himself many favours sometimes admittedly. I don't know what went off with the bloke from row 10 but from what i can gather if someone spoke to me or you like that you'd have to seriously hold yourself back from decking said bloke.

He is beginning to sound like a desperate man.

Stubborn and defensive over his choices, accusing fans of berating JCR (despite no serious criticism taking aim at Jam) to justify his decision to let him leave. But worst of all the old "should have had a penalty in the last game" bollocks.

I'm disappointed in Clough. I had hoped that he would come out of the recent slump with a little humility and admission of his responsibility as the Manager. Instead it's been the ref(s), the players mistakes, the fans and hard luck in the transfer window. I thought Clough had more character then that.

A reliable experienced centre back is needed and Collins is the only player on our books who fits that description.

He's by no means a great player, but we need to steady up the defence and stop leaking goals. It will also help whoever partners him.

Might score a few as well

Can't be any worse than playing a midfielder and a left back together at the back.

I guess we should see a positive that he is talking about Collins more (granted he will have been asked questions about him). Clough knows deep down he can't overlook Collins and he knows it's too late in the day to get another defender in.

He's slated Collins for the Swindon / Chesterfield games but take a look at the back four. Shocking. Maybe selecting mceveley over Harris at left back didn't help. Put Harris and brayford in as fullbacks alongside Kennedy/basham (or even butler.. Yawwwwn) and you see a different neill Collins.

Yes I would have loved Collins to be replaced in the summer, but by quality. Not the likes of mcGahey, mceveley and Alcock at centre back.

Clough arrogance? At least he inherited one thing from his dad.

The very big difference is that Collins is a leader on the pitch and had an obvious working relationship with the captain, not always amicable but sound. We have few leaders on the pitch and miss Collins.

Maybe he was a leader in the dressing room as well!!

Can't agree with that. One of my major criticisms of him is that he wasn't ever a leader. When the team was poor, he was too. Leaders dig in, break the pattern, do what other don't dare or care to do.

It's all subjective based on a view from the stands, but I only saw him as decent at this level when things went well around him.

Yeah exactly.

Now I have managed to listen to the whole interview, I now doubt Jam or Collins will be back in the team this season. You can sense from tone in which he speaks about both of them it's very critical. Nigel always says "There players ahead of him." and I am sure he said that about Butler as well before Butler left.

Problem is Nigel the players ahead of them keep getting bloody injured.

Giddings Twattering that

NC says Scougall, Flynn, Howard are all back in full training, but are unlikely to feature tomorrow.

NC says Freeman should be fit to play as should McEveley, who'll need a pain killing injection in his shoulder

NC says he's still hoping to add to the squad before the close of the loan window on Thursday week.

Harrison McGahey could also be sent back out on loan, if opportunity arises
(Ken edit - which implies he was sent back from Tranny and not recalled)

Also - shreds1975 stating that Coventry looking to sign Sam Ricketts on loan from WWFC. Would bolster our options at full back/centre back and add height
