Look, as long as we have a squad of honest, hard working professionals - does it really matter how good they are?

Wasnt aimed specifically at you, but at football in general, happens up and down the land. Literally, football fans will never be happy. No matter what. We could piss this league, piss the next, get to 4th in the prem and there would still be a small group of fans moaning about something to do with the club... if not player purchases, price of pints, standard of pies, red stripes not thick enough.

£999,999 is a six figure bid. And where is it reported the turned down bids were for ageing has-beens?I guess we'll never learn that the way out of this division isn't through failed 6 figure bids for ageing has-beens .....![]()
The club could obviously have avoided the current malaise by not making statements post the Prince like
"Game changing investment"
"Think Liverpool"

I'm not being a blind clapper with that question, and after years of under achieving I get why you would make a statement like this, but the current regime HAS spent money, and NA (who doesn't strike me as a bare faced liar) has said funds are available.
Might be better to wait until we have, or haven't recruited before commenting.
We could have bid 100k or 999k... What player in our league or league 2 that would improve our squad could we get for 100K? So we could have been bidding for anyone remotely decent doesnt matter about the league. If we made those sort of bids for players in our league or league below clubs would sell - if we are making those sort of bids for teams players in Prem or Championship it's no wonder they're turned down.
Anyway I thought once a club bid for a player said club couldn't stand in their way?
Who were the bids for?
If they were transparent we could all use facts rather than heresay when discussing such matters![]()
You sell your car for £10,000.
You want to buy another.
You go to a garage and see a car you like.
Said car is advertised at £7,000 (what you don't know is that the garage would accept £5,000).
Question for you;
Is your opening gambit to tell the salesman you have just sold your old car for £10,000?
Or to use the SUFC way in that anology they have a car that is worth £7000 and a bloke off the street offers £4000 and we just say yes mate I'll get you the keys![]()
Why should they tell you? genuine question and one I never understand, people get so pissed off at undisclosed deals, or wanting to know what add ons, sell on clauses etc. What does it matter?
Because, this:
I support a football team. In that football team are some players who have been good, and some players who haven't been so good. It seems we have a p[olicy to sell the good players to the detriment of our progress up the league, particuularly toward a challenging place in the automatic promotion spots. Based on their appearances last season and the wins they helped to gain for us (like, for example, Murphy at Doncaster) and their absence this season which has been marked, I'd like to know what his exact price way vis-a-vis other players in his talent-bracket and position. I'd also like to know if the board has plans to reinvest the money in playing staff, or if that money is to be swallowed up by another project, the Desso pitch for example. I'd also like to reaffirm that I'd rather United played on a shit pitch and be up where Burton Albion is (just over one tenth of the population of Sheffield and about one fifth of the average gate) than playing on a billiard table and playing like cunts with staff who can't pass, attack, defend and marshal the midfield.
That's why.

It was very accurate as Liverpool and their transfer committee squandered a huge amount of money on players that weren't suitable, with a suspect manager who may have been slightly out of his depth and whose record probably didn't warrant his appointment. We have had game changing investment, we might have been relegated or gone into admin without it.
"Think Liverpool" comment was made in reference to the investment strategy, ie it would be a staged process, not a big hit ie "Dont think Man City". But no one wants to remember the whole statement do they...

What's the make, year and mileage?
I could be interested.
Its a 2016 Connor Sammon, very low mileage (not even used a as a run-a-round).

I'll stick to walking.
On my hands.
Backwards.
Naked.
If I lower the price to say, erm, free?

Thank fuck for this post. Lets see who we bring in because players have gone out easy enough so there is now space and apparently money wasn't the issue, lets just wait and see before we pass judgement. They may have bid six figure sums but that doesn't mean diddly squat in the grand scheme of things, just tell us when you sign the missing links in our team, nothing needs to be said before. It only winds fans up and then people wonder who they've bid for, no need for it.The squads not good enough to go up
Everyone seems to know this even blade too long who is surely the sites eternal optimist
So until we sign the players to strengthen thr squad sufficiently , people will not be happy because they want us to go up
Not sure why people are arguing its pretty clear
Will have a listen later, I'm obviously busy at work and don't have time right now.
Anyone listened yet?
Yea, it was 2 million. Like it or not it's a factHa. Brayford for how much? We still don't know exactly the amount, do we? The board must be pissing their pants at us.
Whilst we are on the subject, how much did Maguire go for, by the way? How much to city Hull still owe us?
Its the lack of 'proper' transparency (and apologists on here for that) which makes the whole thing smell of brown.
