After Hecky's first game (the Bristol City game) I did a few comparison graphs to see if the playoffs were possible/likely.

I was asked to keep them updated, so here we go:-

Graph 1 below takes our Game 20 results (after Bristol City) and adds 2 sets of possible (optimistic) future results. The black dashed line takes us to 78 points, and almost certain top 6, the blue dashed line takes us to 71 points, the likely minimum that has any chance of top 6.

After last night's win at Fulham (the red line) we are ahead of both black and blue lines - so on schedule with the forecasts to reach top 6. I have put the postponed QPR game to the end of the season until we get a new date for it.

Graph 2 compares this season with the 2 Wilder seasons (10th and 2nd) in the Championship. After 22 games we had 37 points in both Wilder seasons, so we are currently 5 points behind both years.

Graph 3 compares this season with Blackwell's 08/09 (3rd) and 09/10 (8th) seasons. For these, we are now 3 points behind 08/09 and level with 09/10.

Another successful step on Hecky's Magic Journey!

Have you got this in PowerPoint??

Are we only a couple of wins behind where we were when we get 2nd? Were we on around 37-38 points at this point in the season?

I remember us being about 10 points a adrift of Leeds around Christmas.

The graphs are done on various Excel spreadsheets, and then the figures just taken off as jpegs.

I can drop the 3 jpegs onto a pptx file if you like. The forum doesn’t allow powerpoint attachments though - so pm me an email address if you want it and I’ll send it over.

If you look through my intro before the graphs it says that we had 37 points after 22 games in both of Wilder’s Championship seasons.

Love it. Thank you for doing this.

We're definitely smashing the 2 point per game average we needed just a few games ago. With 3 points from all of our last 4 games it's now down to around 1.85 points required per game now.

As everyone above has said, great work! keep it up!
