It's a familiar thing to hear people at the start of the season saying that we'll see where we are after about 10 games. Well we've got 9 games up to the 3rd round of the cup in the first week of January and seeing as I'm hitting peak boredom level during the international break where do you you think we'll be after the next 10 games?

Games:
Burton A
Fulham H
Birmingham H
Millwall A
Bristol C H
PNE A
Villa A
Sunderland H
Bolton H

I know CW will say we're only looking at the next match and quite correct for a manager to be so focussed but we're fans and speculation and dreaming is our domain.

Looking at that lot my heart says bloody hell we've got a chance of winning the lot which would put us on 60 points! Realistically though 6 wins would put us on 51 points, safe from relegation, still on 2 points a game average and able to go into the transfer window and the really difficult run we've got in Jan and Feb on the front foot.

I don't think I am underestimating anyone - the track record says we're getting 2 points from 3 over 16 games - I'm just saying if we continue on that - happy days.

At a similar time last season I predicted at least 4 wins from 8, we won 6. Should've won all 8.

This time I'll predict at least 5 wins from 9.

I'm strangely worried about the Burton game. We were unlucky at 'boro, deservedly beaten at Cardiff but the Norwich & QPR games we were bullied and 'played at our own game'. Clough will make sure his tedious triers are well up for this. No point winning at places like Leeds, Sun'lan and the sty then slip up against Burton, but I've just got a funny feeling...

That looks a tricky 10 games to me.
Burton won't be easy,They will try to smother our midfield but we should win.
Fulham, Birmingham, Brizzle all at home but won't be easy.
Villa away, difficult.
I'm thinking 16/18 points would be a very good return..

We play at Derby on New Years Day too so that is 10 games before the FA Cup match

Thank you Silent - when I started to write the post I thought we had 10 matches but I lost that one because it's in January and I was looking at the 2017 fixtures.

i reckon 5 wins 2 draws and 2 defeats out of that lot so 17 points which should keep us top 3. UTB

I just can't see any reason why we can't still be in or around the automatic promotion places by New Year.

Would be great to get to 50 points and kick on.

I said this would be a very testing time. Some tricky fixtures there. You can even extend it into January as we've got Derby away two days after Bolton at home; they'll be looking for revenge after showing themselves up at our place. Then it's FA Cup weekend and the second derby the Friday after.

For those 10 games, 2 points a game would mean 20 points, so yer talking either 7 wins or 6 wins and two draws. It's doable, but I wouldn't put money on it. Althoug this team does appear to surpass my expectations every other week.

I'll say...

Burton A - Win
Fulham H - Draw
Birmingham H - Win
Millwall A - Lose
Bristol C H - Win
PNE A - Lose
Villa A - Draw
Sunderland H - Win
Bolton H - Win

Total = 17 points.

That's it I'm revising my predictions now.

10/10

I think we will be clear of the pack - just like we did with Reading 05/06. We have the games to do exactly that.........be CLEAR.

Whether Wolves or a n other comes with us is debatable as I can't be bothered to trawl through other teams fixtures.

What is crystal clear - we will NEVER have a better chance, given where we are pre-Burton and with those games you have listed, to put clear water between us and the chasing pack.

We take each of those games one at a time, prepare as our management team do and just keep racking up the wins and let the others take points off one another.

We have struggled (a bit) against 2 average teams in Forest and QPR recently, and there are some very average teams in that list - but what we appear to do, is LEARN from our losses and I expect CW and AK to drill into the team why we didn't get anything from Forest and QPR.

It is ALL in our own hands.

What does ‘Draw’ mean? ;)

Let’s see eh, but one thing is for sure,if we win em all it’s a done deal.

9 games we need 18 points to maintain our form

struggle to find 3 defeats in those , why

Ive been watching us play , we look good

some in here still think in Adkins mode .. oooh lets go for a draw its all we can hope for
yeah chris is going to let us think that way

I still dont understand how some think Wolves can do it with ease ( why) but we will drift into mediocrity as its happened before , but surely going straight up has happened before
I understand its easy to think we can fail , but the negativity in some is based on regimes this current one has absolutely no similarity with
