Personally we have a few options I think we need another option we're one real quality striker from getting in Europe imo.
Like who? Not being funny just I have been trying to think of a realistic target that is better than what we have and proven at this level.

Are u a greedy person? Because I am happy with how we are doing and am more than happy with how the season is going. Just securing our place in the prem was the ultimate target. The players are at the moment exceeding expectations and are giving 100% but you can see they are tired already at this stage of the season. It’s unreasonable to expect Europe in our fist season back and we as fans should not be thinking about it. We will have a steady build of the squad under Wilder with the focus on staying in the top half, which will be an amazing achievement and one most fans will be grateful of.

Jean-Kevin Augustin from RB Leipzig (would have to be a summer transfer though)

It's not about been greedy it's been realistic
I'm not on my own thinking a top striker will take us to the next level.

Financial stability is everything, everything.
7th in the prem is a bonus but no way I want us putting at risk by blowing loads of cash. Strengthening is always a positive, as long as it's in line with the one rule we should never break.
Weve progressed beyond our Wilders dreams (see what I did there) but must never spend what we cannot afford.
I'm more than happy with our lot right now.

We need a Lunny replacement and a top striker. How much do we have to spend tho?
Think we also need cover for JOC as there doesn't appear to be anyone other than Stevens to fill in??
Been reported we've got £20m to spend this window hasn't it?
Seen that figure in a few papers?

Agree about not risking our financial security , but plans have to change as our position changes. I do not think that there is such a thing as Premier league stability beyond the established 'top 6' clubs.

At some point in the next year or so we'll have to go out and try to dominate more. We'll need different types of players and a different setup. The difficult second season syndrome with transition from new boys to a more established one.

8 appearances no goals this season. Doesn't seem to tick the goal scoring box.
He hasn’t really got a game to be fair to him. He was the one seen to replace Werner at RB Leipzig when he left. He was a very highly rated young striker.

From what I’ve read and the half dozen times I’ve seen him play reminds me of Mousset.

we have the Lunny replacement already, hes here on loan from Everton
I really like Besic but don’t see him as a direct replacement for Lunny, more somebody to shore up the midfield when required. The bit that we’re missing from Lunny at the moment is the attacking energy and I’m not sure that that us Besic’s strength.

I'm not arguing he wouldn't be good, but he certainly ain't proven, similar to what we did in the summer.

I think we will continue to build by buying the top championship playere ( a la McBurnie) and players not being given a chance at their current clubs (a la Moose). We cant afford proven premiership players unless we get them in the summer from relegated clubs.

Problem is the top championship players like Bowen and Watkins are going to cost £20m.

What I'd do is wait until summer then depending on who goes down and who comes up look at pushing the boat out on one of these 3 players....Mitrovic, Deeney or Pukki

Agreed, but proven premier league may well be out of our league. For example Callum Wilson’s asking price was £50m in the summer.

I think we will be going for players with similar stature to what mcburnie and Mousset were last summer.

That's the point I'm trying to make. We're not in a position to go out and buy that next level. We will do what we did in the summer.

As long as we stay in the prem we’ll always financially secure , we can afford to spend 50/60 million pound each summer with the TV money

If we scored more goals this season we would be top 4 now with easy

It's really the only area holding us back this season hence why Chris went out and sort most of the budget on forwards in the summer

Not ours though is he? Plus, if he keeps progressing as he is, he won't ever be either, Everton will want him straight back at the end of the season.

We've already got one. We need something different to what we've got.
Why? We have a fast striker, a target man/poacher ish, a poacher and deep lying forward. What “different” striker would you like?

Someone that can beat a man with skill. Someone that can get me on my feet with excitement. Maybe we could even play with a winger one day?

Does Mousset not do that? And I suggested a player who also does that.

why play with wingers when our wingerless setup has taken our team of unknowns from league 1 to 7th in the premier league within 4 years?

Mousset can run like the wind but are you happy with end product? Are you suggesting we play the same formation for ever more? Regardless of what I read on here, other than Sharp, I don't think we have a natural finisher at the club.
