Wouldn't call him a 'favourite player' but I really liked Ian Bennett too.

No idea why... just seemed a nice bloke.

Paul Devlin and Alan Wright for me

Every time Devlin got the ball there we shouts of go on skin 'im which seems to have stopped being shouted nowa days

and

Alan wright as he was like Robert page's mini me from where I was sat and won an unusual amount of headers for a 5"2 bloke

I read that he'd given up a lucrative job in the City to become a footballer. I remember seeing a photo of him (matchday programme?) posing with a mobile phone to his ear - great big phone the size of a brick with a breadstick of an antenna on it (I exaggerate probably :)).
Yes, I think he was a stockbroker and played part time for Sutton. He played in their famous win over Coventry. He packed it in to become a footballer. Of course, these days he'd have made more money as a PL player but back then, he'd have made more in his job. I bet he's never regretted it though.

Still think Gannon was one of our most underrated players.

I've always enjoyed our Asian players. Not sure what is 'wong' with me...

Hao Haidong
Li Tie
Sun Jihai

I wanted them all to do well but none of them got a fair crack of the whip. I could never understand why Li Tie didn't play as he did well at Everton

Yes I remember that Bournemouth game and was really excited. He just did well to come back at all but his overall game was never the same it's true. Poor family didn't his brother have awful luck too at city?
Both their careers didn't to live up to what they could have. Didn't help that Mike used to spend most of the game flicking his hair back!

You think there was no particular reason for liking keef!?

I'd go with Luton Shelton. Now that is left field. I even knew he was shit but always felt he had a big moment in him.

Agreed, against Man U he was awesome they just couldn't handle him - looked like the defenders just didn't know what he would do next - probably because neither did he.

That's when he didn't get that nailed on penalty isn't it.
I'm not saying he was great I just liked how exciting he could be.

I think if we'd renewed Warnock's contract we'd have seen a lot more of Shelton and Fahti and would have kept Liegertwood and CKR. Robson really was fucking clueless. Was given a brief to play more attractive football, sold some of our more suitable players for that system and kept Monty and Morgan. Work that out.

He DID keep Legs Of Wood. He started the season with him and Monty (who he also said would score double figures that season) as his CM. Genius or mentalist?
As utterly stupid as this was, surely some blame must lie with Brian Kidd who had been here the season before and must have known neither of them could pass water!

Didn't he get rid of Legs before the window closed?

I don't really blame Kidd, he's just the coach. It shouldn't need him to tell Robson what a player is like. I blame Robinson much more. I'm not a violent person but if I were KM, I'd have stuck one on Robinson before I sacked him.

The Flying Wingers father and son Colin and Lee Morris, the latter never fulfilled his potential once he went to Derby and for a hefty 3 million.
Ex pig Terry Curran too

Can I just verify something, are you saying Curran was one of your favourite players?

Vas Borbokis, will always remember his debut v Sunderland first game of the season, he destroyed them. Incredible talent that never truly achieved what he should have done at the Lane, probably because we were in big time selling mode ripping apart a team that had the ability to piss the league.

Remember his press shot on the back of the star looked reyt exotic with his leather holiday necklace my Favourite player

1. Jonas Wirmola - played a handful of games went home
2. Wilko De Vogt's - Sub keeper for majority of time
3. Franz Carr - electrifying pace good trickery not much else
4. Jean Phillipe Javary - awesome name
5. Lillian Nallis - always liked him for Leicester

Jean - Paul Calve, just kept willing him to shoot again?

Peschi, in reality pretty average, but just love him for that celebration and always playing with a smile.

Big Dougie Hodgson. Famed by his Wednesday night drinking in the leadmill..His attitude and he was a really nice bloke...Remember he did a meet the fans in a pub back in the day..Wasn't many of us there so he got pissed with us all...Good night..
