Unsurprisingly, that was a bit gash

Once I saw the line up, I wasn't expecting anything other than a defeat.

Poor performance, from a set of players that looked like they didn't know each other.

Didn't see the Baxter challenge, can't see why he was brought on really.

Still, I'm not bothered that we're out.

Another lesson learnt by Adkins , for sorting the wheat from the chaff.

Gutted were out, thought we'd learnt over the last two seasons that fans love a bit of cup success.

I'll never understand putting a reserve side out. Play the best 11

Can't comment on the game as I wasn't there, thank fook my boiler leaked at home as I was quite fancying going to this one.

90 years without a cup win isn't it? I guess we can concentrate on play off failure now.

I've got some citalopram spare if you need some

We could have done without the 2 red cards & such late in the game too, they must have realised the game was lost by then

Distinct lack of pace going forward, we seemed to spend the whole game passing sideways, backwards or goofing it from the back. Very poor, too many of em not good enough and that will tell Adkins which ones need shipping out.

How 2 of the only 3 who could be considered first 11 players got sent off when we were already 2-0 down and out of the competitioni will never know !

Yes, the 3rd division first eleven were nailed on cup winners.

Did well enough last two seasons and apparently we've improved things this season...
Did well enough, won fuck all, and we're still in the third division.

Perhaps there's a reason Clough has got nowhere in the game.

Sounded like we did next to nothing on the radio without ever being threatened much ourselves until the penalty.

The bigger picture from tonights game for me , is Baxter does lack timing and pace , thats why he has rash moments. What is also evident ( although Clough did some good ) , he has left us a legacy of alot of mediocre players , some on long contracts , who will be difficult to move on , as the clubs interested , and salary offerd are both sparse.

It may be a Winston Bogart situation at Chelsea , some years ago ( but on a much smaller scale ) , that some of them would prefer to stop at the lane , not play first team football , but take the money , until there contracts expire. Bit of a dilema , especially when needing more players to come in , to strenghen the first team.

Well we've not won much for the other 120 odd years either...

Nice to have a couple of semis to get excited about last couple of years (pun intended), whoevers in charge.

Well it's all about opinion. I was all for a second string before, as actually injuries and suspension mean we're already looking a bit light.

All the top managers complain about too much football. Despite many protestations from us unwashed, they probably know what they're on about.

And I'd rather crush my balls in a vice than have another trip to Wembley.

Wasn't that bothered as I live quite near anyway but I felt sorry for those who'd travelled down. Turgid performance and a turgid game.
Ran out of pies too.

Oh we are out of the league cup.

I take no issue with the rotation policy adopted by Nigel. If anything, the only thing I would question is bringing the likes of Baxter and Adams on. It’s ridiculous that having made 10 changes to the team from Saturday, we still managed to lose 2 of Saturday’s starters to suspension. That being said, it’s not like we lost any of Adams/Sharp/Sammon/Basham/Edgar/Howard/JCR who for me are more important.

I’m all for rotating the squad for the cup games. That being said, I expect any team we put out to give their all to win a game of football.

I think last night probably highlighted the need to buy or loan a pacey winger to replace Murphy though. We only have JCR who is a direct, tricky, pacey winger throughout the whole squad now. Adams to some extent but for me, he’s a striker settling for a place on the wing due to the resources we have up front. Another one in who can run at defenders with the ball would be useful. It’s a shame Flynn, Coutts, Flo, Bob, Brayford and Tel are all out at this stage of the season as we would have much better options for rotation with them available.

That's all well and good but would you shag her, if it meant we'd win a POF?
