Bottom line is nothing's changed we,re still as skint as we ever was.
Don't ask me about the ins and outs of the situation but I do believe it's another sham/cover up by Mcabe .
No decent signings will be forthcoming in this window.
This HRH bloke will put no money in (has he got any) so the struggle goes on.
Mcabe is hoping things will pick up in the next few games to keep that 15-18,000 here or he'll lose at least 6,000 cash paying fans.
It looks like we've been had again boys Wallsall, Rotherham ,MK Dons laughing at us.

Come on racy its not rocket science to dissect your comments as ill advised and illiterate, look at it from every angle, the business angle, the respect angle, the cash angle, do you really believe that the McCabes would totally lie to us about this investment whilst writing off over £50m worth of debt? you should show some respect to them.
As for the Prince do you really think he would stake his reputation on a fabricated story, to be honest your comments are too daft to consider and you should think really hard before beating the club with a stick at every opportunity, I've not seen any of your previous posts so won't make a judgement on your character but come on mate do you really believe its all fabrication.

It is a good job Assem Allam is not our owner. I would rather have the McCabes and our Sheikh all day long.

HH

I'll just link back to what I originally said the day the investment was announced.

Prove me wrong United. Prove me wrong.

I shouldn't have bothered. It's no more impressive second time round.

How does this elaborate, time-consuming sham benefit KM? What's in it for HRH? How could it possibly succeed given that, by it's very nature, a sham investment is bound to be exposed very quickly?

Do have a think.

I'm no millionaire business man so can't speak from experience, but what I do know is that just because a bloke has a pocket full of cash, it doesn't mean that he has no brain and will therefore be happy to throw good money after bad. In fact he probably has a pocket full of cash because he has more of a brain than your regular Joe.

Football fans are all guilty of losing perspective a bit, particularly after years of watching premier league clubs spending money seemingly for fun. After all a million quid for a player (if only....) is a shit load of money, no matter how many millions you have. And if the Cloughmeister has been told by KMc and HRH to maintain our league one status this year, and to do it without spending crazy cash (which is quite likely), then that is what he will be working towards. Staying up on goal difference will be mission accomplished. Uncomfortable, but mission accomplished. If, come August 2014, we haven't seen any cash then there'll be questions in The House, until then we may need to take a shed load of chill pills

Good Lord, common sense and reasoned argument? It'll get you nowhere on here; I've been trying for years.

What are you saying?

I'm sure Kevin and Abdullah are operating on the very best of intentions but that doesn't fill me with any confidence that we're not going to end up a bigger laughing stock than we already are.

That's fair enough and understandable given our past experiences.

I think it will be next Summer before we see significant spending, largely because (like most managers) NC doesn't like the JTW market conditions. I also get the impression that 'game-changing' [not my preferred expression but it'll have to do] money will not kick in unless and until we reach the Championship and literally millions of pounds will be needed.

Those on my side of the argument think your lot are cynics; You will counter that we are naive. The great thing is that, as ever, time will tell.

I said at the time it was all a load of bollocks to get keep the fans sweet and so far i've seen nothing to indicate otherwise. I'm 99% we have no money other than what we should have anyway, being one of the biggest clubs in the division. But no doubt the fans will wet themselves if we spend 200k on some bum that Rotherham don't want.

Another not very well thought out response, come on be serious do you honestly with all your heart believe its a scam, I asked racy the same question, I believe its real and respect your thoughts but surely even the McCabes as well as with Prince wouldn't fabricate this investment, what have they to gain?

What I was getting at now its January 16th less than a fortnight to go before the window closes one signing in Paynter who is about as prolific as Porter as a striker.
There has been some decent forwards, midfielders, defenders up for grabs in the last 2 weeks why have we not seen no movement.
Clough has done a great job with the squad he inherited but at the moment he seems to have his hands tied.
Im not a Mcabe hater but the guys pumped fortunes into this club and i think the pot is well and truly empty.
Bit brutal calling me illiterate!

Didn't Clough say 2 or 3 loans in the transfer window were likely about a month / 6 weeks ago? Movement seems consistent with what he said.

So where are they then?

It was McCabe stating that it was a game changing investment, how would you expect supporters to react to that. His comments implied that we were now awash with money (fanned by the media). Perhaps he should have made his comments a bit more low key.

There will be some property deal on the boil like buying a hotel for a £1.

Must admit that I didn't think it was McCabe that said it but, assuming he did, surely the investment into the club making us debt free (if that is the case) is surely 'game changing'

I have no issue with the outgoings so far provided that, by the end of January 2014 we get some players in who are better than those who have left. At the moment, I believe that the one in is better than Porter so hopefully the rest will be follow suit.

I agree, he probably should have chosen his words differently - I did wonder at the time if those words would come back to bite him on the bum... However as I said before, even if United are awash with a game changing amount of money, it doesn't automatically follow that the dosh will be spent willy nilly. Football is an expensive business to be involved in and why would two men who have done very well for themselves in their business lives suddenly begin throwing money around when the risks are as high as they are at the moment? We will never know the business plan, but it may be something like this:

HRH: Nige me old china. Here's the plan. If you can get the team to within 8 points of the playoffs when the JTW opens, I'll get out my AMEX Black card and perhaps we can have a go.

NC: Okie Dokie, sounds good. And if we aren't within 8 points?

HRH: We'll spend the minimum we can to maintain L1 status this season and have a proper go at it int summer.

NC: Isn't that a bit risky though. And you know the fans will be mighty confused don't you?

HRH: Yeh I know. But I'm not about to start spending good money on more mediocre players who may or may not perform. That would be daft. But FFS keep us up

NC: Roger that boss man

I'm sure it was McCabe. What he didn't say, however, was 'magic wand' or 'reckless spending on hugely overvalued players'. It may be two years, I think, before we see what fans interpret as game-changing.

it was brutal, I didn't personally mean you I meant the intent in your message, sorry if it offended.

I would say it is. But he didn't need to give half of his business to HRH in order to write his own debt off. I'm still hopeful something will follow, because otherwise I can't see the point in the deal for either of them.

Yes, true. Or it might not come at all. But either way we shouldn't keep repeating the "get someone in at all costs" mentality that's seen us with an overblown squad that is both expensive and devoid of talent.

Who has been asking for reckless spending?

We can see that, we are 16 days into January, in my book that makes us more than half way through the month.

I'll barely be able to sleep knowing we're one signing behind schedule. Will give them a good boo for you on Saturday metal.

Alcoblade - full of sound common sense, but yet to bare his arse on Town Hall steps as promised.

The problem with the JTW and Saudi princes is that it fills us with hope . We should know better but we never learn.
As someone once said " despair I can live with, it's the hope I can't stand "..

I couldn't care less for the finances , however we clearly have a team where the best 11 look barely capable of clinging on to their 3rd tier status..

Strategies and windows are all well and good but the simple fact remains that team are not good enough, we need better players in the short term and a better team in the medium term.

The margins between staying up and relegation are slim, we know that too well

Injuries to the 1st team in the next month or so will mean that by definition, they will be replaced with poorer players.

As stated , we never learn . UTB.
