United players you just didn't like?

Surprised Nosworthy has only appeared on here a few times.

Mark Yeates - did fuck all off the top of my head and lazy as fuck for a winger

S. Quinn - made himself look busy by running around a lot but when he got the ball he was all left foot, and the ball never went forward. Frustrating to watch.

Interesting that a few have said Jones. Whatever you think about him. and his love affair with Leeds, I don't think we'd have stayed up without him the that first season. His long throws alone created crucial goals such as Bradas v Man U.

I remember his debut, he came on before kick off and ran around on the pitch doing a sort of 'he man' look-at-my-muscles gesture. My brother turned to me, I turned to him, he said 'Twat' and I said 'Wanker' simultaneously. Talking about Vinny, not each other, obvs.

In general, I felt very aligned to Bassett's approach and felt his little cabal of ex-Wimbledon players was a good thing for us, but Vinny was a step too far for me.

Most of the time for the last fifty years to my knowledge, we've had very few HALF decent teams. I'm talking about "half decent" teams here, not good teams.
There is no such thing as a VERY GOOD Sheffield United team in most peoples living memory.

You may have missed the point. The thread isn't about whether they are good or not.

It is about players that you actively dislike.

Can't you see the links between all the various names suggested above?

A recently published paper in the Lancet, by Professor Bram Alllane, researched personality disorders using the newly discovered 'Prize wanker spectrum'. All the names listed above are towards the higher end of the spectrum, although admittedly Curran is way way beyond that.

Nick Henry and Paul Thirlwell.

I’m sure there are more, but they are definitely the top two. Henderson comes close and Andy Gray would be too if not for that penalty at Highbury.

I think some other suggestions are a bit harsh, the likes of Hill and Doyle who may have been limited but always gave their all and genuinely cared about the club and fans, and Flynn who made three memorable cup contributions - the winner at Villa and the goal that took us to Wembley in 2014 and then dominated Spurs’ left flank on his own from right back with no one in front of him for the entire second half at the Lane.

Can't believe no one has mentioned James Harper!!! What a complete waste he was. All I ever saw him do was wave his arms around and shout!!

If I could like this 10 times I would. Big expectations when we signed him. Supposed proven player who was a complete waste of a shirt.

I would also like to join the "Tony McMahons" a twat" gang. Useless niggly player.

King and Hammond requires no explanation.

As for somebody not liking Billy and praising that useless lump Henderson, I need to go for a lie down!

I could write a book on this. Alan Cork was shit and very frustrating but then again he did score at Wembley. I couldn't stand Kevin Gage and he hasn't changed my mind with his general twatiness on twitter. However the worst is definitely Neil 'the albatross' Collins, hated the player and hate the way he is now desperately trying to link himself to the club. All the others are mentioned already, vinnie, Harper, Hammond etc etc. Adkins should be mentioned as well as although he wasn't a player he was a cock.

Baxter in first place closely followed by McEverly and a blast from the past Trenton Wiggan

Les TIbbot - got a nose bleed when he got to the half way line.
Simon Stainrod - fantasy player - always in a fooking daydream.
Imre Varadi - super pig.. ( Twat ).

And currently Leon Clarke - No i aint Wednesday in diguise. scores a few, injured for longer - Lazy except for the end of last season and on a good run presently.
will get player of the month and get injured. ( again).

Febian Brandy
99% sure he was match-fixing when he got sent off against Shrewsbury, didn't even looked bothered.

I’ve personally met and spoke to Tony Currie, Ian Porterfield, Chris Morgan and Stephen Quinn.

Currie and Porterfield seemed a bit grumpy as though they didn’t want to chat.
Whereas Morgan and Quinn were really friendly, especially Squinn who was a credit and really down to earth.

He said it was like a scene from the film Zulu because they had several excellent black players besieging our goal (Blisset/Barnes et al). Whilst highlighting their colour was perhaps not the most appropriate thing to do, I don't remember him saying much else.
He was brilliant and restricted Watford to 5. We really would have been hammered that day without him.

That is sad.

Actually desperately sad, if there are more players you dislike than like. I can be a right arse sometimes, but if that was ever the case for me, than I would really would pack it in.

Good point, well made.

Short of signing Tevez or Madine, I can't think of anybody who come near Curran.

I think the words he use was the
Rourke's drift.
Rourke's drift.

I think he actually used the words spear chuckers!

Yes,
I'd probably dislike more than I like if all the thousands I've seen were listed

I'm not sure why it's sad.

There is no such thing as a VERY GOOD Sheffield United team in most peoples living memory.

We've had a couple of HALF decent sides at Championship or League One level, a couple of useful players turn up now and then (not worldbeaters) but they are usually surrounded by shit

It's been extremely rare over the last 50 years that we've even had a HALF decent team at SECOND Division level, let alone a HALF decent team at the top level.

If you can only muster a couple of HALF decent teams at Second or Third Division level in 50 years and ONE half decent First Division team in that amount of time it's not going to be surprising that most players to ever pull on our jersey are going to be pretty forgettable

May I suggest that you look in a dictionary or Wiki what supporter actually means? You obviously do not support United, perhaps you prefer bouncing to watching good football

Another shout for Les Tibbott, he scores on all three fields: Completely failed to live up to the hype (a la Harper), was a bit nesh and weak, and according to those who met him was a mardy twat as well.

I'd forgotten about Nick Henry. - good call, he was a nasty, arrogant useless little cunt and as for the other one ..... don't get me going again.

Jordan Stewart - although he did give me a good laugh when he did his knee by seemingly miskicking with both feet simultaneously.

Controversial but I had a huge irrational hatred of Shaun Murphy. He could head it but couldn't defend- Lee Sandford bailed him out a million times but he got all the bloody credit!! Twat of a snooker player n'all

Aye I've seen that on the video! Aside of his personality, as a player he did a decent job but he was a big money signing and appeared to love the hype and he never wanted to leave Leeds, which didn't help. But he did play a vital role that season in my view.

Why don't you shut up talking bollocks
If you're going to say you like anybody that has played for us you're even more gullible than a dog chasing after a torch light

The overwhelming majority of players we have signed didn't give two monkeys fucks about United, the majority of players we have signed have had very few good games for us which is the reason why we have spent a sizeable amount of time during the last 30 years in Division Three and even Division Four

Therefore I have no liking for the players that got us in that situation

Ahem Gentlemen... handbags lowered if you don't mind.

Much obliged.

Sorry Linz
But I'm not having somebody picking up on EVERY SINGLE THING I SAY because I had the audacity to criticise United when they deserved criticism.

The question is "Which United players did you not like" and I have said most of them, very few have endeared themselves to me considering the thousands have that have turned out for us over the years. I don't see what's wrong with that
He can ignore me if he cannot stand alternative opinions and only wants to speak to gullible clappers like himself

Not at all, friend of mine played in the same team as him and said he's arrogant and his only skill is scoring (although that's a very good skill to have) it's boring watching him, much prefer Clarke.
big skill to have in this game! :D

If they have not been mentioned I need to add Martin Smith and Kevin Macdonald to the list. Both good players who took the mercenary option at the first opportunity!

I would add Gary Abblett for the same reasons, but it feels wrong speaking I'll of the dead!

Might get slaughtered for these two:

Richard Creswell ex pig and Leeds scum, who turned us down when Colin was in charge to sign for Blackwell. Then signed for us when that chubby twat was manager, on around 10k a week. He was a major factor in the god awful ale house Mickey side that took us into the third tier.

Paul Ifill; wank, just utter wank!
