United or Wednesday

Hello again everyone,
It's been a while since I've jumped on this forum and I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who has taken the time to give me info/their opinion on why United should be the team for me. As I think I have said before, I'm not basing my full decision on the forums but I appreciate all the insights that has come my way. You certainly make a very strong case.
Through the uni, over the last couple of months, I have made some connections with people who are also doing my course or are at the uni in gerneral. They were certainly all football fans and after telling them how much I wanted to dive into the culture here, they were very intent on taking me to their ground and showing me the ways. More importantly....they were Blades! I have also made contact with a couple of Wednesday supporters and I did tell both sides that ultimately Premier League football would sway me towards Wednesday. Their loss in the playoffs resulted in a heated but friendly debate from the two sides but I have to say because numerous factors I won't go into and reasons that were very similar to the comments on here, I will become a BLADE next season. I am unsure of timings just yet as to how my arrival will correlate with the start of the season but at this point, I have chosen my team.
May the off season be prosperous for the Blades and I hope to see the team firing when I arrive.

enjoy the journey and enjoy every moment, we are in a special moment at the club and a perfect time to join, hope you enjoy being in Sheffield and the UK as a whole :)

I dont know why , but i just cant shrug off the feeling that this is a piss take .
If it's a wind up it's possibly the most pointless wind up of all time... if this lad never turns up at the lane none of us will ever know.

All he's done is encourage us to all talk at length about how much we fucking love the blades and dislike the other lot... which we already waste all our time doing on here all day anyway ;)

Interestingly you will see both side. On derby days you will be able to go to Pigsville and BDTBL. You will see both teams and both grounds. When you go to Pigsborough I strongly advise you to wear a safety harness and helmet, as their ground is falling to pieces. :)

I think that anyone who can't see that this is obviously genuine and not at all a wind up, must be on a windup.

Won't have enough points

You’re wasting your time. It was either a wind up or a student doing a study and looking for some free material.

I know, was just checking see if they were still playing along. Some reyt weird folk.

Just type 'Pork Talk' into Google and see why they are the Pigs.

Unfortunately the time I come to Sheffield is pretty much bang on when the season starts. Is it a bad idea to buy a season ticket a couple of games into the season if I want a decent seat?

Manchester City and Liverpool will be the first two home games. ;)

Hello everyone,
Wasn't quite sure where to put this but I was looking to get your help.
I am currently a college student in New York and have been given an opportunity which requires me to live in Sheffield for a year. I love football/soccer (don't hate on the word, it originates from Oxford University) and have been a member of New York Red Bulls since its foundation as well as playing all my life. Anyway, one of the main things I am looking forward to is getting a season ticket at one of the Sheffield clubs, either United or Wednesday, but I am having trouble deciding who to go for. When I was looking into this last year it seemed an obvious decision to choose Wednesday due to the Championship football on offer although that benefit is likely to be equalled as United look set to be promoted.
Why am I here wasting your time on the forum? Basically I want to get the fans opinion to try and persuade me and give me a reason to choose their club. Due to other sports teams I support in the US (red and white colours) and the fact Bramall Lane will be a bit easier to access from where I am staying I have decided to ask you guys first.
I appreciate any advice given though please keep comments constructive, saying things like they are pigs (I know you call each other that) and hillbillies isn't an argument. Match day experience, fan culture, players, history would be preferable.
Thanks
Simple. If you want to be entertained by proper soccer go and see the Blades who are playing the best football in Sheffield for 30 years.

actually for a study going to Hillsborough would be excellent .
Its rammed full of gullible people who on the outside look normal but manage to get through life with no grip on reality
Any student doing a thesis on delusion gets 21500 case studies and plenty of spare seats to use as a couch
I would caution you to wear wellington boots on going there in case you step into something nasty though
