The worrying thing is that Norwich are suppose to be a similar level to us and we were at home.
If we are struggling with this batch of teams what happens when w replay the really fancied ones like West Ham, Wolves, Saints, Burnley etc?
The identity of the team needs sorting asap. I think 4-3-3 best suits but if Wilder can’t coach it then go 5 at the back. We at least played with discipline and understanding with that. 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 can’t see the light of day again with this squad, I swear.
Also what is the point of this supposed extra signing? To reinforce a system that already isn’t working?
Play 4-3-3 or 5-3-2 and you have 6 central midfielders. In the former you have BBD, Oné, Campbell, Bamford, Cannon, Donovan and Chong; 7 for 2 spots.
If your 5-3-2 was 3-4-1-2 then you have Donovan and Chong for the ‘1’ and a good 5 options for the two forward options.
Only thing I can think of is a left winger to support BBD if we stick to 4-4-2. Or you do move to 4-3-3 but then you have Bamford, Campbell, Cannon, Oné all chasing one spot.
We need a formation that shows it’s working before adding. Suppose we land on 3-4-1-2 as the solution, then what’s the point of another winger?
