Oh, one other thing about Tanganga. Did he win a header today? Serious question, every long ball they played he seemed to get beaten by the striker.
The other thing about him is why is he the captain he must be the worst captain we have ever had .
If players are looking to him on the pitch god help us.

Regards previous comments about long balls do you seriously want to watch our defenders passing the ball out from the back.

It's shocking and has a manager where would you start with that group of players.

Unfortunately,it’s as we all saw it,lacklustre, shapeless, leaderless, technically incapable. The coaching and scouting at this club is abysmal and has to change, constant league one hoofing, all those instructions come from you know who. Spot on reporting.

A fair report and can't argue with any of the ratings. Even in our good spell in the first half we were never in control of the game and you felt that Norwich would still get chances. Second half was a complete no show. It is obvious to everyone (except Wilder) that we need to play 3 in central midfield as we do not have a paring that is good or fit enough to play as a 2. Signing Choudray as a RB could go down as one of our most bizarre decisions ever as that is 2 games were the winger has had him on toast. Surely Doherty or even Shackleton could do no worse. The Blackburn game is looking crucial as lets face it we are getting nothing against Wolves and I don't fancy us against Soke either.

I used to get seriously angry about second hand shite like yesterday. Seen too much of it now, just put my head down, shrug and shuffle off muttering.

I'm going to get picked if I carry on like that

The worrying thing is that Norwich are suppose to be a similar level to us and we were at home.

If we are struggling with this batch of teams what happens when w replay the really fancied ones like West Ham, Wolves, Saints, Burnley etc?

The identity of the team needs sorting asap. I think 4-3-3 best suits but if Wilder can’t coach it then go 5 at the back. We at least played with discipline and understanding with that. 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 can’t see the light of day again with this squad, I swear.

Also what is the point of this supposed extra signing? To reinforce a system that already isn’t working?

Play 4-3-3 or 5-3-2 and you have 6 central midfielders. In the former you have BBD, Oné, Campbell, Bamford, Cannon, Donovan and Chong; 7 for 2 spots.

If your 5-3-2 was 3-4-1-2 then you have Donovan and Chong for the ‘1’ and a good 5 options for the two forward options.

Only thing I can think of is a left winger to support BBD if we stick to 4-4-2. Or you do move to 4-3-3 but then you have Bamford, Campbell, Cannon, Oné all chasing one spot.

We need a formation that shows it’s working before adding. Suppose we land on 3-4-1-2 as the solution, then what’s the point of another winger?

Taganaga is a big problem for us, for every one game I see him playing well I feel he has 5 poor games.

Yesterday for me the 2nd and 3rd goals, both he was poor…

Problem we have is he isn’t going to get dropped. I feel he’s well overrated.

Generous score for Riedewald. I have never seen a player put in so little effort.
He is a player I never got the fuss over last season to be honest. Neat and tidy but rarely passes forward, does not win many tackles or really physically impose. His strength was positional sense defensively but yesterday he left huge gaps and his lack of pace/fitness meant our midfield was complete bypassed. I felt a bit sorry for Peck yesterday. Riedewald and Phillips are two very experienced players. Both were not only awful but irresponsible andnlazy in how they played, leaving gaps and not picking up runners.

There are huge issues with shape/set up and issues all over the team but the central midfield having no control of any game, not winning tackles, keeping possession or setting a tempo, has been our biggest issue (of many) this season. The defence is getting exposed so many times in games with no protection. Only we could have 5 (,if you count Choudhury) CDMs and all of them be totally ineffectual.

I think O'Hare is the biggest miss.
His work rate was excellent and I doubt we'd have put in a home 2nd half performance like yesterday had he been in the team.
There was zero creativity and I can't remember their keeper having a meaningful save to make in that half.

Jairo and Hamza are two shocking signings. Jairo was slow last season, and seems to have managed to become even slower.

Hamza looks like a league 2 player, so far.

No pace in the team, apart from Donavan. There was a point in the game, yesterday, when a decent ball was put through to Bamford, and he should have had the beating of the two defenders and one-on-one with the keeper, but he looked like he was running through treacle and was easily caught.

No height in the team, as has been said on other threads. Nearly every goal kick from Cooper was won in the air by an opposition player.

No real aggression in the team, other than Peck and Donavan. Donavan has more fight in him than any of our defenders, that's how bad it is.

But we have played like this with him last season and only last Saturday. The creativity is an issue but irrelevant if we ceded possession, dont have a structure to let teams run through us. The midfield is absolutely appalling at the moment and just putting pressure on the defence but the structure and shape is dreadful, compounded by having slow, unfit, immobile players all over the side.
