CarlingBlade glad you enjoyed it. It's very much a development XI rather than an old fashioned Reserve Team. Travis Binnion once said to me "What am I going to do with an experienced pro if they send him over to me?" 7 was Harvey Gilmour - box to box midfielder - usually paired with Regan Slater who was out injured today. 8 was Jordan Doherty - he's been in the Irish U19 system & played EURO Qualifiers. Recently he's been used in a back three to cover injuries, etc. The position he played today (attacking midfield) is his best (opinion). 10 is Jordan Hallam - he's been out on loan at (for eg) Southport - so has played Mesters Football. He's versatile - great in the no. 10 - bit of pace - fox in the box & takes a lot of dead ball kicks for us. That was a typical attendance - although there were more "away fans" than normal. "Oldies who seem to go to most U23 matches" - Fuck off - Oldies.... how dare you. Glad you enjoyed it - see you up there next Monday. (yes it's always free up at Stocksbridge for the Academy U23 - Season tickets or £3 when it's at The Lane)

Cheers for the response, by oldies I meant retirees, excellent afternoons entertainment, if you're short of cash and can't afford regular first team games u23 matches are a great way to get your fix.

Interesting comment from Binnion, I noticed he was coaching all the players through the match, but not Freeman, I suppose there's the understanding he's there to regain his fitness.

Great performance by the ref aswell.

I would describe Binnion's sideline coaching style as "explanatory". He is shouting constantly. But, a lot of it is of the "if you go there, he'll have to do this & that means you'll be able to..." nature.

And, a lot is just loud simple encouragement, "get after him" "come on, fill in there" - and praise.

Very little is bickering criticism. I didn't notice the point you made about him saying very little to Freeman. Good spot & point made

Wasn't it one of the Leeds lads that injured Callum Semple? Did this have any impact on Semple's game?

He did get his injury against Leeds but he is back stronger than ever and is playing without fear. Great credit to the lad and also all the attention he has had from the club and the medical staff

Nice goal that, something we must be working hard on in training. What with the Billy goal against Leeds, the great chance for Baldock against Leicester and that today just in the last week shows us what we’re working on as a club in training, amongst other things of course.

The pull back to someone holding their run or someone sneaking in from the blindside seems to have happened a lot recently for it to be a coincidence.
....and so it continues, it really is no coincidence, Billy pulls the ball back into a vacant space and Lundstram takes full advantage. These sessions are definitely paying off, keep it up CW/AK.

Would that be the lazy unfit puffing Billy who isn't fit to lace Clarke's dog's bootees?

Sorry, wizadry nothing to do with you, but there is some real anti-Billy drivel around this week.
