Proper Game that. Great to see the young team back playing together. Solid and creative from the back, hard working mid field and forwards who are always on the move. Freeman had a good first half and the defending was a bit of a battle but WBA picked the wrong team to try and intimidate
Fine return by Callum Semple and already the partnership with Sam Graham looking good, thought they handled the WBA attacks well and held a great line. Our two warriors Regan Slater and Jake Wright were impressive with controlled aggression.
I really enjoyed the game and looking forward to next Monday

Some people on FarceBook saying that Tyler Smith and Jordan Hallam might be ready for the first team soon...
It’d be great to think we had a couple of exciting young attackers coming through. But is it too early for them?
What do you guys think?

Referee Ping Wun Tam....sounds like something you would shout to a Scottish ref who was losing control of the game.

Neither of them are anywhere near the First Team.
As a young striker, you've got to absolutely stand out. Fair play to Smith. He's second in the League goalscoring table. Behind Connor Hall (Bolton), a player we released. Good though he is. Developing though he is. There is no clear route to the First Team.

I have said for a long time, I think Hallam will play league football. Just not for us. He has more strings to his bow. Dead ball specialist. Pace. Vision. Fox in the box.

But, both a long way off in my opinion.
Great to watch though

I'd do an educated guess that Ref was part of some exchange scheme. Come over to England to get some experience. His English wasn't perfect. And I heard him explaining he'd reffed just one previous game in England to the linos. Unless I got stick wrong end.

I'd agree with the comments before. Tyler Smith is nowhere near ready for the first team, he's not developed enough physically and perhaps in his head too. He seemed to be getting extra encouragement from the touchline than the other lads as if he needed help with his confidence or his head is likely to drop. Good finishes though.
Jordan Hallam is very tidy and has some great assets but he has too many good players in front of him. Played in the number 10 role (quite apt because that was his shirt number).

In my view, Regan Slater is ready to slot in to the first team when called upon. He looks like a natural leader to me and really sets a great example as captain in the way he plays, ready to 'cement' an opponent as and when required but also makes some nice passes. Reminded me of Michael Doyle which will not please everybody.

The other lads who I can see playing for the first team (from my one game watched) are Norrington Davies who played down the left and looked like a Seamus Coleman type player and Callum Semple, who I think has been tipped as one who will step up before.

Can't really think of any of the others who stood out, maybe Jake Wright, Sam Graham and Harvey Gilmour have something but I'm looking forward to watching the lads progress and I felt proud watching the sort of players our club is producing.

Really interested to see how Norrington-Davies gets on, and it’s a shame we weren’t able to give him some minutes in the games he’s been on the bench. He’s been around the Welsh youth set-up on and off over the years, was let go by Swansea, and we ended up picking him up from the Kinetic Academy down in Croydon. Wales has plenty of up and coming talent, but with Ben Davies preferred at LCB, left-(wing)back is an area where there’s probably more of a pathway to succeed we’re he to break into our first-team.

No Brooke's or ched, playing tomorrow?

Sorry. My Blog Report from the U23s has been delayed overnight. By a combination of 8% beer & the fact I had another SUFC game in the evening. Anyway - here you go
Comfortable 2-0 win to keep us in contention in our Premier League Cup Group
Brace for Tyler Smith - but MoM to Jordan Hallam
Kieron Freeman Watch....
Thick legs
Cloudwater Birthday DIPA
And, a comprehensive tonking from the Handsworth Invincibles

Handsworth have a new ground being built after a couple of years of planning and aim to be a top non league outfit. They get goodsupport even though home games are now at worksop. In the next 5 years I can see them being in the fa cup early rounds . They produce fantastic players but also have a bit of wealth.

Great to be back watching the 23s.

Without question it is a better game of football when first teamers are not involved. A young team battling away against big money Premier League youngsters and to be honest, our lads out battled and out played everyone one of them.

It does worry me that some first time watchers have a NOT READY FOR FIRST TEAM YET view.

You will never know if they are ready until they have a chance to show it. Most of these lads are waiting for that chance. Might come, might not.

What I can say And the hardened 23 followers will agree, is that this bunch of lads are a credit to our club.

Really enjoyed it yesterday but I still think Jake Wright Jnr has something to offer. He really does set the tone for the younger lads to follow.

Totally agree with you there Larky as anyone who knows anything about football will already know good players playing with average players look average...good players playing with good players look exactly what they are Good players!!! Average players will always be average and never reach the level of good players hence good players get made to look average...I really do wonder if some people watch the same games as me at times

It doesn't really matter what the spectators think though. It's Binnion's and Wilder's opinions that count. In some ways I think it's good that their prospects are downplayed on here a bit because we tend to get carried away and hype kids up. It's unlikely to help their development reading on social media about how good they are and how they should be in the first team. It's just a distraction.

.

If you've got a bone to pick with my opinions, feel free. Maybe come and tell me the next time I attend - you'll know it's me, I'll be the guy you don't recognise as a regular.
I stand by them and said they were based on watching the lads for the first time. I would never claim to be a hardened 23 follower and have no plans to get in your little club. Don't be sly about it though, that's unacceptable.

I wouldn’t take offence to it mate football is all about opinions that’s why we love it and it would be boring as fuck if we all thought the same....have a beer and go watch em a 2nd time!!!

I'll definitely be back to watch them, really enjoyed it. Just prefer to be belittled directly :)

Where are they building the new ground?

A forum is about opinions. It is about challenging other people’s opinions.

If you feel belittled then I am very sorry pal, that certainly wasn’t my intention, but it would be very boring if we all thought the same.

You are more than welcome to join my little club if you wish. That will make the club I am in with a membership of 2. You and Me.

But to be in my fucking club you need to be sly and not have a fucking opinion. So I don’t think you can join my club. If you wear a big hat with KEEF on it then I will come and have a chat.
That said, if I have offended you in any way I apologize,
