They are not happy we have a few load mouths in the crowd and we keep say your shit ahhhhhhhh everytime their 17 year old keeper takes a goal kick.
But it's only too be expected by us apparently.

Looked a penalty to me inside the box, fuck em dirty little pigs 🐖 🤣

With having the players missing playing I reckon we'd get double figures tonight

Wharton

Barrett Potter Freckleton

Sachdev Maguire Arblaster Neal Boyes

Marsh One
It’s a very scratch team we have out in relative comparison.

Their keeper is Wednesdays no.3. Faxon is behind Wes, Davies, Amissah, Dewhurst, Wharton.

Cadamarteri was on their bench last game, whereas we have McBurnie, Archer, Brewster, Traore, Jebbison, Osula, Marsh all ahead of Hackford and Oné perhaps edging ahead of Maceido. So it’s their 5th of 6th striker and our 8th and 10th.

As alluded we have 3 young centre backs on loan too as well as the 5 first team options plus Pitan and Sagdev will be on international duty so probably up to 10’ahead of these lads.

Midfield again probably double figures worth of options before these lads.

Pretty even game so far what I’ve seen.

1 - 1 not sure what happened as I had switched over to watch England for a few minutes.

It's all pigs at the minute, not sure we can keep them out for another 30 minutes.

Sloppy goal. Sliced clearance onto the bar, keeper had to dive, tapped into empty net. Quite avoidable and not especially well worked by them, cock up by us.

Winning totally against the run of play, little black winger for them dancing around our defence.

2 keepers on display leaving a lot to be desired.

Peck has been great since he came on.

Hold on Blades, for a 2 -1 win.

Just didn’t clear it.

But considering the side we had out, all quite a bit off first team, not the worst result.

I thought the forwards were poor. Neither Hackford nor Maciedo got hold of the ball at all.

Buyabu looked handy going forwards and Brooks is quick on the break.

You could tell they were young lads at the back as nobody really dominated.

Both goals from crosses, like the first team. First wildly sliced onto the bar, taking out the keeper in the process for a simple tap in. Second, a messy attempt at defending and broke to their lad who took it quite well first time.

Excellent break for United first goal and a smart finish for the second though keeper should have done better.

Faxon unlucky with the first, second was through a few players so not sure how much he saw of it.

Game was relatively even. But despite conceding late on, when you think beyond the loanees, even the likes of Sagdev, Pitan, Oné we’re unavailable for this one, not a bad outcome overall.

Good to see Peck back too.

Not that it is critical but 8 clear after 8 games is a more than reasonable start for the U21s.

Agree, it was a young-ish side that we put out, they held their own despite the constant fouling of the junior pigs.

I couldnt believe some of the tackles and challenges
Worlds apart from the premier league surprised no one got seriously injured

Have to say I wasn’t that impressed with United. Certainly wasn’t the level I hoped, and mirrored the old school tactics employed by the first team.
Very little control of the ball, hoof forwards ASAP and little actual quality in possession.

Some occasional good bits of skill but has to be judged against who they were up against.

Not one of them anywhere near the levels needed to break into the first team anytime soon for me.
If that’s the future in the next few years then this is our last season in the premier league for a good while.

I like the look of Brooks but not sure he will make it at the highest level but has something about him.

The gap however is huge and some of the more optimistic shouts about the youngsters coming in and doing a job is laughable. Marsh was head and shoulders above everyone at that level in terms of goals. Wasn't getting ahead of Joe Ironside, another former promising kid,for Doncaster st the bottom of league two before his injury.

To be fair we have 11 out on loan that would start.

Also, people "grow up" at different rates. We have lads in the youth team who look like they should be upstairs, doing their maths homework, before tea, and then we have Ryan One, who is built like a bloke at 17.

Manchester United Academy sometimes group their Academy players by physical maturity rather than age. They term it Bio Banding. They even have a week where they play other Academies Bio Banded teams. I know they played Blackburn Rovers recently on that basis.

Nick Cox and Travis Binnion run Manchester United's Academy.

Agree on Brooks. I think he will make it professionally, just not sure if it'll be with us (probably depends on what league/financial situation we are in).

I alluded to this a little during the game.

Agree we weren't the most fluent.

Wednesday seem to loan very few players out for some reason.

It was our 6th choice keeper vs Wednesday's 3rd.

There are about 7 strikers above Hackford and 9 above Maciedo whereas Cadamarteri is on Wednesday's bench.

Maguire, Arblaster and Neal could have legitimately been the midfield had they not been on loan.

We also had 3 other potential starters playing internationals in Sagdev, Pitan and Oné, plus a first choice young trio of Potter, Freckleton and Barrett are all playing conference football.

In fact if we look at who is eligible, you'd not get much further than Seriki, Buyabu and Brooks as first picks and even then you're tossing a coin with Sagdev, Boyes and the returning Peck.

But I like the way we show confidence in them.

I fully expected an outing for Brewster but we resisted that. So fair play for backing them.

New Zealand rugby has been doing that in the youth leagues for years. Stops the European-descended kids getting flattened by the Islanders.

Anyone know why we have an 18 day gap? A game this week would've been good for some players needing match fitness.
