I was worried when he came on and but he did really well.

Put his head in where it hurt when he came on clearing the ball. Blocked a shot to stop them stealing a goal back.
Hopefully it's what the lad needed. Coming on in a game that was wrapped up, protected by the players in front of him, and allowed to do the simple things. Very different to how he started the campaign.

He was excellent today. The difference in quality between him and McGuiness is hardly big, I'm surprised to hear people are concerned?

Happy with his contribution today.

A true test will be when he's playing when we aren't 3-0 up though.

I do think that whatever happens with him. We havent seen the best from him.

Played under Selles poorly. As did everyone else.

See how he gets on. All gonna depend on the other injuries because if mee and McGuinness are out for a few. Hes gonna play.

Bindon did very well second half, very solid.

Maybe shows that it easier to come into a team that has good balance and is working, rather than what was happening at the start of the season.
I thought he was excellent today, my man of the match for the second half.

Brave and commanding, whilst also good on the ball. I have been intrigued to see how he would perform under Wilder and believed Wilder must have some degree of faith in him as he has named him in most squads.

It would be incredibly harsh to judge any of our players on the first 5 games under Selles....it's now Bindon's opportunity to show that he is worth keeping in January.

This ^^

He did well today.. but the game was all but over when he came on.. I’d still have concerns with him starting games.

I think we need to judge on more than half a game…. A game that we were cruising in..

It’s a bit of a worry that we’re now so short of CB

He was only on the bench because we didn’t have any other options today and did well 2nd half albeit in a game that we dominated.

The interview with CW before one of the international breaks was telling when he didn’t even name Bindon as one of his ‘missing’ players, the RS interviewer even pointed him out and Wilder just ignored it and moved on.

As a player he can only take his chances when they come though and he did a lot more in the way of positive contributions today than the likes of Barry would have if he’d come on.

Bindon was hung out to dry just like Peck when Sellers was here.two very young and inexperienced players god knows what Sellers was thinking.
Bindon does play for New zealand so obviously no mug and he showed he was up for it yesterday.
Wilder is not the kind of manager to throw a player under a bus ! Maybe you read Wilder wrong.
If Wilder was thinking of terminating the loan that 2nd half might change his mind.

Barry has shown neither ability or commitment to play at championship level and subsequently it is different logic.

Whilst I agree he’s been poor for us, I struggle to understand how a player can be so good at League One level and then not be good enough for the Championship, the gap in quality of the divisions isn’t that big.

For whatever reason it hasn’t worked out so far, but I reckon he’ll end up playing the majority of his career above League One.

There’s a hundred percent a decent and capable championship player there sadly for him and us too little too late.
Has a decision already been made? I can't see Zatterstrom being relied upon, and I really hope Godfrey is sent packing, so can only assume we've identified fresh targets in January?

I’m just an idiot on the internet but even I knew United couldn’t throw a bunch of 21yr olds into Championship football without an established spine or the capacity to rotate them in and out.

It’s been unfair on all the youngsters, bar none. Even Barry could go on to great career. The last four months won’t define him.

Folk seem sceptical about Wilder’s attitude to youngsters because he’s hard on them and values experience. But what Seriki, Peck and Brooks have done in the last three games has been their best football yet.

Mark duffy says hi

Brooks and Seriki too

In truth , I had forgotten that Bindon was still with us but relieved when he came on knowing that at least he was a natural Centre Back rather than having to play someone who wasn’t in that position .

Given that , I was still surprised by the level of performance he put in which was one of calmness , self assurance and a positional sense which was a pleasure to watch .

As for his block tackle which prevented an almost certain goal , it has to rank as being one of the best by any Blades player in recent times .

It just might be the case that our small but vociferous “ he’s shite get rid “ brigade have somewhat prematurely overreacted and not for the first time .

See also Peck , Brooks , McCallum etc. ……….

Agree Joe! I have talked of him myself in previouse posts! He was hung out to dry along side Sydie under Sellers.
They both struggled in that set up.
Both are international players! Sydie under 21s and Bindon a full New Zealand international. Both highly rated who were thrown to the dogs when Sellers was boss..
I still cant get my head round what Sellers wad trying to build.
Destroyed the cofidence of an entire squadHe wasnt helped with the lack of recruits ( owners felt) to try to impart a new way of playing like he did when it was clear it wernt working was just silly.
He maybe a good coach and his future will show if he is.
What a chapter that has been!!
