The best three teams, the top three, should go up - after 46 games it's beyond doubt. Simple as. Play offs are just a money making racket which leads fans like us bitter cos someone has crept up from behind and grabbed undeserved glory. What we achieved was awesome, what the fuk wits from sarf London have done is a million miles away. Rant over, soz.

Let's change the rules then.

To be honest, why have 0-0 results, let's award it to the team that has most possession/corners/best kits? That'll be more fair.

If that's how they want to go about it then I think that's fair enough. It would serve them right if it fucked up though and they conceded anyway.

Taking the pigs out of the equation is that the type of football you'd want to watch, its like Champions League tripe in September, pointless.

0-0 gives you a point in league football or a replay in cup football.

Giving a team a victory based on 0-0 would be disastrous as a spectacle.

Trying to illustrate the point that unfairness can be described in many parts of the game. The play offs are entertaining, and that's what football is about.

I think the play offs should only go down to 5th placed in division .The 3rd placed finishing team should go straight to the final and 4th & 5th play each other for right to meet them in the final . At least there's some reward for a higher finish then .

i remember it being a similar-ish situation in 2012 when we played Stevenage in the semi-final, it seemed grossly unfair that a team we'd finished about 20 points infront of and who were clearly inferior to us over the course of 46 games were now suddenly on level footing with us and could very easily get promoted at our expense.

would definitely be against scrapping the play-offs altogether as there are alot of positives to them (which have all been listed above) however i definitely feel like there should be some sort of reward for the teams finishing higher up the league, not sure what you could do but the commonly suggested 3rd getting thru to the final with the winner of some mini-league between 6th/5th/4th seems like a decent idea.

The difference between us and Millwall is there to see. We'll be rubbing shoulders with all our old foes next season. Millwall will be breathing out of their arse in the deep end.

Deciding anything on penalties is ridiculous. Penalties are one small aspect of football. Why not see who can take the longest throw-in or win the most corners?

Or the furthest hoof?

All 11 players get to welly it as far as they can and the average hoof is calculated for each side. Only in S2, eh?

3rd to 6th all had a chance at promotion, every team knows it becomes a cup like competition Millwall won and now have championship football, could have been any one of the four, none are that exceptional, and certainly not over the course of the year other wise they would have gone up via Auto route.

Tbh I don't mind them going up at all. Everyone knew the rules at the start and if it had happened to us then I'm sure we would have been ecstatic and happily taken it.

It's their problem now in that they've now got to really strengthen their team in pre season or that's two of the relegation spots taken for next season (Millwall and Bolton).

Not my favourite club at all, but fair play to them. They have won promotion fair and square and I don't begrudge them that at all today.

With a bit of help from an incompetent linesman.

Morrison was clearly offside when the ball was knocked on to him.

Of course he has. That didn't stop, though, the usual cap-doffing from the experts on here before we outclassed them recently. So much better than Championship player James Hanson, they said. Knowledgeable "Bradford fans" said so, they said. We then saw him 'play'.

Funny old place, S2.

I find it baffling how you have such a negative opinion on the likes of Montgomerie and Morgan, yet hold Hanson in such esteem.

Funny old place, pinchy's brain.

Montgomerie was outstanding on the European Tour but never won a major, so that places him below the elite level.

Montgomery, on the other hand, was a shadow-chasing ragamuffin who was used as a training cone by half-decent opposition midfielders. He tried hard, though.

Morgan was a capable though limited centre-half and a really good leader. He is utterly atrocious as a coach. That's the reality, not negativity.

Lol, gave you a tap in there...

Hanson, whilst having the tag of a footballer, is nothing more than an awkward lump. Even John Francis had more footballing prowess. It does have it's benefits as a plan c mind.

I'm not a huge Hanson fan by any means. He is certainly limited but he exceeded my expectations (though they were low) by a good way. He will have his uses in the Championship I believe, but don't expect him to be a first choice. Barring a truly major signing, Clarke and Sharp surely start as a pair, first game? They've earned it in my view,

I'd be surprised if not, however I think Lavery and Evans will be chomping at the bit for a chance. But that's what it's all about, Wilder has created a squad that appear to want to fight for a spot when they lose it.
