I think all but the most rabid and deluded Blades fans would accept that KM is a fundamentally decent bloke. Isn't that why, for all the mistakes he's made in the past, there's still a lot of goodwill towards him?

There aren't too many chairman/owners manage to learn from their mistakes. I genuinely think he's done a great job keeping the club afloat after making some shitty choices after (And during) Warnock.

Yes. Not sacking the latter before the Premier season being the most damaging of all.

Tried to explain just how much a lot (majority?) of United fans don't particularly like Warnock yesterday. I think unless you've lived with him as your manager you don't understand how much he wears on you

He led us to such a shit time in the PL that we appear to be wishing to go back there..

Which of the managers we have had since have you preferred ??

I had fully and completely tired of him by the time he left. Petty squabbles, negative tactics, general shithousery. Everything was about him. He got us to one pretty disappointing Prem season. That's more than anyone else but that's an indictment of poor choices by the club rather than Warnocks ability

Maybe I'm being ungrateful but I don't like him, his football or how he goes about refusing to take responsibility for his failings.

Rant over:)

Why would you sack a manager who's just got you promoted?

Getting a team promoted out of the championship & getting a team to survive in the Premiership are two different kettles of fish. Warnock is great at one & shit at the other. Having kept him after promotion, we compounded the error by getting rid of him after relegation. Saying that we only went down by the merest of margins, so possibly he wasn't that shit. Just unlucky. Unlucky & poor referees. :)

Sacking a manager after promotion to the top division is fairly common in Italy & Spain, well it used to be.

we can write it off as another missed opportunity by Mc Cabe

We had one magical season where individuals were fantastic and we had my favourite ever United match (Forest 2nd leg). I'm still sticking to my point that Warnocks core football is dour percentage stuff and his attitude is awful. Hed very much run his course by the time he left

Because he wasn't able to take the step up, one of McC's biggest mistakes.

And we wouldn't have sacked him, a 350K pay off would have been a good deal for both parties.
Mate, come one, considering the budget he had to play with (no to mention the Tevez Affair, The Hulse Injury, etc, etc). The fact that we only got relegated in the final 40 minutes of the season, and on goal difference (by one goal!). The guy is a fucking genius! But I understand, not everyone likes owd Colin. But you've got to admit, they were some of the best times ever as a Blade
