It will be interesting to see if we get the same idiotic, melodramatic, foot stamping bullshit should Wilder go back and sign players that have played for him before.

You know, that thing that every single manager within football does.

Look, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Shit managers get sacked. Forum experts never do. Ergo.......

Spoke. With a man city scout when Adkins brought in Turnbull, he told me then it was old pals act

Absolutely piss poor but unsurprising. Football's full of old pals acts.

At least Nigel will be able to take him with him to League Two.

Interesting point. Managers who keep surrounding themselves with people they've worked with in the past have a low self esteem and confidence. Any manager worth his salt and faith in his own ability can reach out to any group of employees and get the necessary results.

Can't be certain about this but when Alex Ferguson left Aberdeen to join Man United I'm sure that on the playing front he only signed Gordon Strachan.

Adkins talked a confident game but I don't believe he was totally comfortable with himself.

I think it's more to do with the fact that they know the players, know how they perform and how'd they fit into current teams.

Some players also play their best football under certain managers.

That's why virtually every manager does it.

Sometimes it works, like Brayford and Clough and Adkins and Sharp.

Sometime it doesn't, like Adkins and Hammond.

I'm doubtful it has anything to do with self confidence.

I think the problem was that they did the strength and conditioning class just before kick off, so they were all knackered, except for Sharp, who wagged it and went for a fag behind the bike sheds instead.

Turnbull - Zumba classes.

Part of the 'restructuring' is having no scouts at all.

I think we're still many, many years away from signing any foreign based player.

Wouldn't surprise me if Travis Binnon will be doing some scouting duties as he is part of the "Technical board". The U21s don't play on weekends and Derek Geary is in charge of the u18s

Your need to post a smug comment means that as usual you miss the point. Yes, managers often sign players that have played for them before, however a good manager also understands that these players will also need to improve the team. A good manager doesn't just sign them because thay are old pals of his, despite them being well past their sell by date. Adkins brought in Hammond and Woolford, need I say more.

Sometimes smug is the only reasonable response to some of the bulllshit I read on here.

Adkins signed Hammon and Woolford purely because "they were old mates of his". I know you're obsessed with Adkins, but even the most obsessed can see that is complete toss.

Unfortunately they were complete toss.

If only we could deduct the total amount we paid Turnbull from Adkins pay off...that would seem fair.

It's hard to know if Turnbull was good or bad.

If Sammon was done before they arrived
Hammond, Woolford and Sharp were Adkins' men
So that leaves Edgar (ok) and Baptiste (good)
