So, another dominant display full of fantastic possession, movement and control. But, 5 points and 1 win from the last 5 and Tufty's words, still ringing from last Saturday, came to fruition again.

As good as we have been, he, like the rest of us, are again left wondering what he has to do to turn these performances into wins and more importantly whether it can be done with the cards he has. The blueprint has been a revelation but I can't help thinking he now has a real dilemma and given the events of last Summer, I do wonder what the next couple of months have in store.

It really is bizarre, the best position we've been in for over 10 years playing the best football for donkeys yet I can't help feeling there's unrest around the corner.

Here's hoping he doesn't lose faith and it is just one or two key signings......

He's not exactly covered himself in glory with some of his tactical decisions of late, but we all know whose fault it will be if we aren't challenging come the end of the season. You can only do so much with a hand tied behind your back.

Billy has missed 8 career pens and scored 27.

McGoldrick had scored 13 and now missed 6.

That would suggest Billy the more likely convertor. Having said that, in his Blades career, he was 3/3 before today. Why wouldn't he have taken it with that recent record?

the OP comment is very valid. We have nothing on the bench to come on when we start with our strongest side, Brooks was that man, woodburn is history and we were not prepared to spend big and now there will be nowt for Jan. Brooks money is paying the wages and the owners are not focused on what we could do with that little extra.

You've hit the. Nail on the head there Jim,we are playing great football just short of that bit of quality .
Man city play in a similar way just that they have the quality we lack.Let's hope that the owners whoever gets control realise how close we are to being successful.
I've no doubt that Wilder .can take us all the way given the support he needs.
I just hope the owners realise what we have here in Chris Wilder and Alan Knill because clubs watching the way we play will see what the pair can acheave with the right support.
Earlier this year when Wilder called the owners out I was confident he would stay things have changed and I can see them being poached if we stagnate due to lack of support.
Tonight was. an example of great football the movement an d first touch stuff is great to watch we only lack the quality to finish the job.
I can go back to the late fifties and we have had some useful teams,this one if Wilder gets the support ( £ ) could leave them all behind, he's definitely got something' (Wilder ). and clubs will have taken notice ( are you listening owners ).
Tonight was a master class without the finished product we will lose him unless the owners wake up to what can be acheaved if they really back him ,I'm not talking mega bucks but two or three more quality players in the window wil give us a real chance of automatic forget play offs.

Remember Wilder himself has said he is loyal but not sentimental.

Billy and Goldie obviously want to take every penalty.
So Wilder rewards success, score a penalty and you remain the penalty taker.
McGoldrick has scores every penalty for us so deserved to take the penalty.
Miss and the role gets passed on......so expect Billy to take the next pen.

That line really hits home with me Jim Chimmerney lad, and I am normally an optimist. We are in a fantastic position, and in all honesty only need a few quality tweaks to turn us into league winners. Yet the ongoing ownership wrangle is an albatross around the clubs neck and if this prevents Wilder using the remaining Brooks money to add significant quality in January, then I fear he will be prised away from us.

If that were to happen, we still have a good squad, but we lose an incredible management team.

As I said not mega bucks but 2or 3 quality editions would make a massive difference.Wilder is making us better all the time but there comes a point when we need that injection to speed the process.
My fear now is other clubs will be sniffing around and Wilder may lose patience with the owners and be poached. Had would proprobably do some soul searching but he can earn big money in premiership,just hope he sticks with us but being a professional he could decide to go.

Hardly....the only reason David is taking them is because Billy missed a pen with a really sloppy kick when he should have scored. Billy ain't a sacred cow!

We just need a couple of midfielders who can score double figures goals a season. At the moment our midfielders seem scared to get in the box & shoot. Maybe they're scared of fans reaction if they keep missing ? They just prefer to play sideways passing I suppose it's safer & they look better than they are.

Listening to his post-match, he seemed far more upbeat than he was after Forest so maybe it was just an over-reaction last week. The good thing is, he knows the type of player we need and the type of person to fit in, we've seen how seemlessly Norwood and McGoldrick have fitted in for example so I've full confidence in his recruitment. I do agree that we are at full pelt now and if this doesn't bring wins then it's back to the dilemma and whether or not the board will back him in January. I've also no doubt that he will have plenty of suitors now should he decide it's time to move on.

At the end of the day, we're 2nd in the Chumpionship so as much as he's striving for perfection and constant improvement (quite rightly), hopefully he'll realise how far we've come already, listening to last night, I think he does.
