was about 10 meters behind around 5 lads who looked about 16 years old, walking past petrol station/cricketers after game, started anti-derby chants, derby fans didnt bat an eyelid, policeman definitely took exception though when the young blades started to move towards the DC fans, giving it the big un. copper punched one of them in the face and tackled the others to the ground, police horses involved, escalated quickly
I really hope it was the same group of teens I saw doing the same thing to the Peterborough fans.

I love banter, I like singing and I'm terrible for winding up away fans, but there's a difference.
These kids were litterally trying to get a reaction to start a fight (that I'm quite confident in saying they would have eventually bottled or lost).

Maybe the coins were some sort of collection for them due to their financial difficulties!!
I was in Westfield upper and didn’t see owt !
As ever UTB !!
There was a guy sat down from me on H waving a £20 note at the Derby fans. I was going to join in and then I realised I've not carried any cash in about 2 years. Not sure if my Nat West debit card would have had the same impact.

They do need to start having a better think about how they manage that away end. Letting them all flood out at the same time is asking for trouble. Its happened loads of times before and will continue to do so. There's literally always trouble on that stretch from the Cricketers, past the petrol station and into the subways.
It must be the worst away end to police, outside, in the country.

.. not people being cunts then?
If you want to answer the question in search of likes, then yes. ;)

But the op suggested they needed to find a way of managing the exit, and he's probably accepts that "stop people being cunts" isn't realistic. It was always managed by delaying the away fans leaving the ground to allow the home crowd to dissipate. Now they aren't allowed to do so.

If you can think of suggestions to stop cunts being cunts, then let's have them. :)

I can’t help being part of the zeitgeist :)

But (maybe on a tangent here), it is a bug bear of mine that, whenever there’s stuff like: Steel Walls, shutting Bramall Lane, change of kick off times etc etc the first thing is to blame SY Police, SAG, whoever and it seems like the reason for these measures; the nobheads get off Scot free in the blame stakes every time.
As for how you stop it, we’ll, it’s a huge question but I think very much an element of self-policing. Let nobheads know it’s not acceptable how they act; make them social pariahs at games.
Its also come from learned behaviour from the older generation; how many times are there nostalgic posts on here about the 70/80’s etc. All well and good but the aftermath of that behaviour is the infringements on our civil liberties we get from SYPD and other forces today. Some acknowledgement of that from the older generation rather than constantly blaming the police from trying to stop innocent people getting their heads kicked in might be nice.

All pie in the sky I know :)

As far as I'm aware, the only away end in the country where you can view an art installation by a Turner Prize winning artist as you queue. (Anish Kapoor - Temenos).
Also got some of the best MicroPubs in the country.

No, please no!

Cue the CBF offshoot 'Turner Prize' blogs.

Seriously, you can't keep fans inside for 5-10 minutes?

On a sort of similar theme, after 20 plus years of attending every away game, Revolution sr has given up this season. His mates will go tomorrow and also give up thereafter.

Why? They can’t see the game. They can’t stand up for 90 mins. They are old. And heaven help you if you try to tell someone to sit down. At best, they’ll be polite and not sit down. Th worst is a volley of abuse from people whose parents weren’t alive when my Dad and his mates started attending Blades matches.

This was in some way inevitable, but it’s a shame that the catalyst is the standing up business.

I find this very sad mate ,can't you get seats near the front ? They only tend to stand towards the rear

Nope. Everyone is standing. It only works if you’re on the front row or in the front of a section.

it’s mainly age. I will concede that. You can’t stop time. And I like to stand at away games. It is just frustrating that if people obeyed the ground rules it wouldn’t be an issue.

Revo Sr is at every home game, sitting with his grandson every week for the first time (my son having moved into the area during lockdown) and I am grateful for that at least.

Why did you tell your doctor you were doing an unsponsered walk ? And for what reason did he advise against doing it ??
I'm just curious bud
I asked my doctor because I have a social worker an she asked for his advise before doing so mate I'll show documents if I have to prove to people.

Have you tried Bramall lane upper mate I’ve not sat up there for a year or two but it seems to be more sparsely populated and has a steeper rake. Granted the stairs might be an issues for senior blades.
