I never thought Slew had much potential. I always thought he just shot every chance he could and got a couple of goals. His overall play never stood out. Couldn't believe it when Blackburn offered what they did.

It has to work both ways. Surely Brewster had real potential at the time, so also shouldn't count (based on your theory).

Also, Woodhouse had played over 100 first team matches when we sold him - not the same uncertainty as Slew.

I always regarded that as one of our greatest rip offs of other teams until we sold Bogle.
