Money which wouldn't have been re-invested with previous regimes. Then there's Clough's compo, the new pitch........and that's just in the last 6 months.

I don't really care about any of that to be blunt. The current football climate requires much greater investment in the playing side than we're getting, irrespective of what we or the directors think of what's been invested/reinvested so far.

Football isn't a money making industry, not unless you're one of the biggest clubs so why are we trying to balance the books?....perhaps because it's treated like a business and not a football club?

Because if you can balance the books the investment can be spent on the team.

Transfer policy? Chase old has beens or has nots from higher divisions for 2-3 years, ignore their naturally diminished hunger, pay them over the odds, be shocked when they don't do the job for us. Repeat.

Good morning and welcome to day 1 of Sheffield United's new transfer policy of buying younger players who will improve.

I hear bladesmad are offering a pie and a Bovril to secure the services of PeteBlade. A spokesman for S2 4SU stated that they'd have been happy with just a Bovril.
