Okay so once again we have failed to make any kind of significant investment during a transfer window. I doubt there is a United fan out there who isn't even a little bit disappointed by this fact but it would appear that it was always our intention to go with loans rather then permenant signings in order to protect ourselves from the financial insecurity presented by the recession. Let us hope that we are able to secure a couple of players who can come straight into the first team and give the fans a bit of a lift.
My only real gripe with the club at the moment is the way in which the chairman has handled his public relations in the recent past; his iladvised comments with regards to the impending sale of James Beattie still baffle me even today and i would very much like to hear his take on the way things panned out during January.
That said, i did not expect any significant investment to be made as soon as the announcement appeared on the website with regards to the snow hampering any potential deals. In these times of financial instability the club are entitled to make a few cut backs and also treat any significant investment as a last resort but a bit of honesty with the fans would have made the whole thing a little easier to swallow.
I am cautiously optimistic that Lupolli can be a success here as long as he plays as a centre forward rather then a wide forward; i guess time will tell.
