Traffic Congestion Saturday

Just to confirm, driving into work this morning signs up saying
University arrivals Expected 21st to 2nnd of september.
Did you post this whilst driving, some on here will have you tarred and feathered, especially if you were scratching your balls at the same time 😁

The brains at the F.A were told to avoid doing this on Saturday. They clearly know better.

Loads of students arrive Saturday. Last time this happened there was massive congestion around the ground due to parents bringing them to Sheffield and the vast amount of student accommodation around the ground particularly at the Bramall Lane/London Road end. It can be bad normally but I remember last time the spread of the congestion was enormous.

I tend to leave early anyway - but I am adding an extra 15 minutes this time.
Make it 45

Maybe Sheffield City Council should consider pedestrianising the City Centre. It would alleviate traffic congestion and give better access to Dixons.

Pay a few million to stick up some random shipping containers on Fargate, and job's a good un.

SYP could give their silly mobile metal fence an outing too, just for old times sake.

Think I'll give it a miss, nobody seems sure of when it is, sitting/driving for 5 hrs there and back to see half a game ain't fun, cheers again Sheffield council

How is it Sheffield Council’s fault that students turn up for university?
Whatever / whoever decided to hold a match when this is going on, also rememberence day timing, original time for Chelsea game on marathon day etc

Just leave home a bit earlier, park at Farm Club. Quick getaway, you'll be reyt.

If you take the turning after Wholesale Markets, I think it's called, just past the big bridge, turn left and second right, it brings you in the back way and avoids Parkway.
Or come off at Prince of Wales Road and come down through City Road or Arbourthorne

I wonder how they arrange sporting events in London, New York, Tokyo, Chicago etc
Fuck me, half a dozen students turn up and we can't cope

I love ❤️ this thread only because that it’s every year always when blades are at home but main because I was one of those sad bastard parents having to park 3 fucking miles away from the digs that happens to need carting 5 ton of shite up 6 flights of stairs . Next time you encourage your kids to do uni think again . Non of this bollocks plus millions £ in debt . 🫣

If you're sat in traffic, you are traffic.

Families dropping students off for University don't have the choice of lugging all their shit on the train, bus etc

The vast majority of home fans do. Go into Sheffield early, secure your spot and have lunch. Or park and ride somewhere instead. Yes I know the trams and buses are busy - they're busy with people going about their lives just like you.

I do find it quite amazing that many people's enjoyment of a Saturday afternoon depends on their ability to arrive at 2.50pm having parked in their usual spot 100m away.
