Their supporters new exactly what to expect, i.e a proper slog. I suspect that their idiotic board just wanted a cheap, quick fix.

Imagine if they were to go down by 1 or 2 points, that handball decision will stick in their craw for years. Now that would be a huge shame!

No I don’t but there’s nothing to stop the Glazers appointing a director of football and telling Woodward to concentrate on the business side of the club (which he’s good at). That’s the responsibility of a club’s owners. If you sit there, in another country, watching your chief exec take the club backwards, you’re not accepting your responsibilities to the club or to yourself. The buck stops with the owners as they are the ones with the power to change things.
 
The Glazers are happy enough. Woodward is no football man, and Ollie will end up as the fall guy, whatever his qualities are as a manager.
I think Man U is just too big a business for him.

They may be happy but I’m not sure why. If they don’t qualify for the champions league this season at least one of their big sponsorship deals is significantly reduced. That’s on top of the income they’ll lose by not qualifying. If this continues it will reduce the capital value of the club.

not wanting to criticise Linz and Foxy as they do a great job but shutting down shoutbox completely was using a sledge hammer to crack a nut. It just needed one permanent ban of one poster.

In their defence, they let us get away with basically anything and approach moderation duties with an incredibly light touch. And still some people take the piss. Shoutbox had been pretty toxic recently. As you say, it was one or two causing most of the issues but the rest of us (myself included) should’ve done a better job of not letting the bad apples set the tone.

There was the one loon on the wind up but people reacting to him instead of ignoring the idiot made it worse.
