Can't see this happening. Just don't think he would be made available this window.

I know we'd love him to come back and he would 100% want to as well. Just seems like it won't happen yet.

Just seen on sky wolves are looking at another midfielder ! Worth a cheeky bid ? Or loan ( how many are we allowed?)

Come on COH, dip into those deeeeeeeeep pockets and spring him from his misery. He needs to come back home.

I really liked him as a player and wanted us to sign him.

However I’d ask this - is he athletic enough to make it in the top flight?

Maybe he is, it’s just there are better athletes we are being linked with.

I think that’s it. He’s got a ceiling limited by his physicality, which needs to be taken into account.

Technically he is a very good footballer, physically he’s dwarfed by half of the premier league.

He’s not particularly fast, big or strong.

There’s a few exceptions to it, looking at the likes of Bernardo Silva but half the league is about 6’4, built like a brick shit house and can run an 11 second 100m. Some real freaks of nature in the top flight.

Just read that he's believed to be on £10k pw at Wolves ( FLW article)
Would be a decent addition to squad

Good post. I agree. I like Tommy and believe he fits Wilder's criteria about being a decent lad and would fit in well with the current squad. At this level he would be a fantastic addition and if we could get him for a half decent fee/wage then it's a no brainer for me.

However, to go back to your point, at some stage if we are to be truly successful (and by that I mean start by consolidating ourselves in the Prem) we really need to be looking at the type of player who can hold his own in that arena. I'm not too sure whether Tommy could. However, as I said if the price is right, he would deffo hold his value and at his age would be a very sellable asset.

Without strength in depth we would be absolutely murdered in the prem again. This window should be about getting there (ie known, tried and tested players) but from the summer we must start to cast our net further afield into the European/world market and bring in the type of players I'm talking about. I love Chris, and think he's done a tremendous job, but it remains to be seen if he can/is willing to work and flourish in this market.

We can have as many loans as we like but only 5 in the match day squad.

1) Gilchrist
2) JRS
3) BBD
4) Choudhury/Charles?
5) Omobamidele/Keane?

He’s technically superior to most championship footballers. So those with greater physical attributes he can play around them.

In the premier league more often than not they match him technically AND have greater physical attributes.

Hed struggled to get all that many starts for a struggling Wolves team who’ve chopped and changed midfield quite a bit.

Hes be an excellent long term signing if we have ambitions to yo-yo a while longer. If we have aspirations to establish ourselves he could quite quickly find himself benched again for someone more athletic (if we’re really serious about it)

I really liked him when he was here before but actually think Charles would be the more astute acquisition now if he’s attainable due to his better physical stats. Charles and Souza both have the physicality to step up imo and assuming Blaster comes back the same player he could too because he’s marginally taller than Doyle but feel like he’s got longer legs and a yard more pace on the spin.

I watched Wolves v Forest the other week where Doyle started. It was blatantly obvious that his 'team mates' were refusing to pass the ball to him. Even when he was the spare man and waving his arms wildly at them like a drowning man they simple ignored him. I was surprised when he re-appeared for the second half, and then he was subbed after 60 minutes.

Worth testing the waters with this one. Loan with obligation to buy (if promoted) seems an offer they may be willing to consider?

Wolves fan on talk sport earlier saying the main reason they are struggling f is because they dont play Doyle

He struggled with that in the Championship. Don't think he played 90 minutes very often and always looked like he was giving 110% to keep up with more athletic players. I'd also argue that he only works in a possession team, which we very much wouldn't be.

I'd love him back.

Rumour was he was on £40k PW at Man City, so his pay won't have gone backwards when he went to Wolves. I'll bet he's on £50k PW now, minimum.

£7.8m for a 3 year contract, which is a lot of dough, but if we want to mix with the big boys, that's the sort of money we're looking at.

he should have come back here when he had chance to know it was a financial decision but he fitted us and we fitted him as ive said before i like choudray but doyle would be my number 1 choice to come in

Yep and it shows how crazy the finances are that 50k is. Peanuts in the Premier league

My Wolves mate says the fans love him
