Think this is a real possibility. We don't know what league we'll be in next season, but if we don't go up we are likely to lose Vini and Peck.

There is also the possibility that there's another turnover of players even if we're promoted or not.

Change of manager?

So many possible outcomes.

TD would surely jump at coming round us on a permanent deal.

Looks like Wolves are going to offload him, not even on the bench yesterday. Might be a good addition for us depending on who departs at the end of the season.
Still young and fitted in well whilst on loan with us, plus I cannot see him commanding a huge fee.
Aye
Depends what you define as “huge” (& City have a 50% ‘sell on ‘ clause)
Given the meltdown when we recently spent (‘spunked’) £10m on a PL reserve / reject I’m not sure TD is large enough, strong enough , nor swift enough (especially) if we get promoted
Who does he ‘replace’?

I’m not in favour of buying previous players I prefer to look forward and try an unknown player where we can’t see the potential and hope it exceeds our expectations
You know what you're getting with previous players. In TDs qualities are deadbolt situations such as corners and free kicks. Likable lad that puts a shift in. Would be a good signing for thr right price imo

If he’s available, we should be absolutely all over it. Would obviously help if we were to be promoted as I’d be surprised if he came back to the championship. Can see both Leeds & Burnley being in for him too.

No no no

Souza out, Doyle in - yes please

I like the thought of Doyle, Arblaster and Peck running rings around teams in the championship next season with a much changed style of play but I doubt we'd get Doyle without losing one of the other 2

And if we go up via the play offs? We still need souza or a souza type in the championship

Not sure we need a Doyle in the premier league

Leeds and Burnley managed to do it without a Souza type for the most part

If we go up we will definitely need someone like Doyle because no way do we just rely fully on Arblaster in that role after that injury

No not for me, we need faster, bigger, stronger in that department.

Would be a great addition to the team.

Would high wages be a problem, though ?
He's only 1 year into his Wolves contrac ,probably with 2 or 3 years lef

Doyle's wages would be too high for us in the championship

Really like Doyle and he did a great job for us when he was here. My only worry is we have you get out of the former player mentally and think is he what we need? Does he compliment what we already have? Or is he much the same?

For me, where we are at the moment and with the players we have it's a no, too similar and think we need a different type of midfielder.

If we have outgoings and things change then definitely someone we should look at. But our recruitment strategy needs to change and go beyond 'was decent for us before, will do again'

Yep and that is why Wolves are letting him go and lets remember they are a bottom 8 club. . My guess is that he's not athletic enough to play top level and is one of those players who looks good in the championship but not PL ( like Souza and Anel)

Only of interest if we lose one of our best midfielders and even then there's no way we are paying his 50k+ a week wages
