"The Blades will run out to different music before the fixture and there will be no goal celebration music as the Club experiments with new ideas about improving the matchday experience.

No final decisions have yet been made about previous music or the latest one, and comments and suggestions are welcome on this issue"

I hope it doesn't become a discussion about what music to play after a goal goes in. In my and in my experience most fans' opinion, there should be NO music after a goal.

Well done to the club for listening to the fans on this one

About f***ing time. It's had it's time - 02/03 season - and should have been binned off 7 years ago. Agree with DKC there shoud be no music after a goal, just raw passion, or if if it's a consolation goal, a muted round of applause.

It's seems the only reason they have the goal music is to appeal to pre-teenage young uns. Let me tell you, when I was a young un the noise and sight of seeing the kop errupt after a goal was much better than any pumped up manufactured atmosphere.

The best news out of the lane in a long time. That bloody music has become ridiculous, in fact all music after goals should be banned.

Thank God for that.

It did serve a purpose. If even for a couple of years?

It died years ago!

Please lets have NO music after a goal. Just raw emotion!!!

I'd like to know who's decision it was to put this effin music on in the first place. How cheesy can you get. Nearly as bad as when Wendy had Di Canio eating spaghetti on the pitch after he'd just signed. Just out of interest do Man Utd or other big clubs have goal music.

beightonblade is currently in a state of shock. Medical experts have diagnosed it as "Reightbleedinshockitis." He is lying there with a strange expression on his face and muttering "Gert, Gert, it's gone, nah then, reight, tha knooers, Ah'm tellin' thee."

We've got so used to teams running out to a crescendo of music that it seems inconceivable that in the 'good old days' they would run out to no music at all. The crowd made all the noise you needed. In fact you didn't see the players at all until about 5 minutes before kick off. They would then just have a gentle kickabout before the start. I'm not aware that there were any more pulled hamstrings or other injuries in those days from not having a longer warm-up.

Was the football better in those days too? It seemed so, but maybe that's just one's childhood memory playing tricks.

It may be your old age playing tricks!!!:D

Glad they've got rid. I've not met anybody who likes it.

there will be no goal celebration music

The performance of the team this year has meant we've already been extensively experimenting with the idea of no goal celebration music...

So I'm the only one that loved them coming out to the theme from Star Wars then?

Also... every shitty little team plays Tom Hark. Let's not paint ourselves like a shitty little team.

the scoring of a goal at BDTBL is music to my ears at any time, drowning it out with tom hark was always a phillistine move and like most on here, im ecstatic to see it gone.As for running out music something with a little passion, energy and decent beat, maybe Sandstorm by Darude or go back to 80's and obvious one Simply The Best - Tina Turner :)

Good move by the club but I don't think today will be the day it's put into action. 0 - 2 today.

Ah yes, the music that David Brent came out to before his motivational speech in that episode of the Office.

I think the word "cheesy" was mentioned elsewhere in the thread. :-)

Kashmir would be pretty good although I don't mind Star Wars tbh.

Sweet Child Of Mine doesn't seem quite right and what the hell was that beforehand when the teams were in the tunnel?!

"That beforehand" would be Toccata and Fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach.

That beforehand was embarrassing!

Why does it have to drown out everything else, why do we have to be prompted when to start singing greasy chip buttie?

Apart from that we did well today until 3.45pm

If we were going down the classical route before the players came out, I'd suggest this:

I'd imagine that went it down like a shit baguette.

My preferences:

Rage against The Machine - Sleep now in the fire

Faith No More - Ashes To Ashes

Kashmir wouldn't be a bad shout but i reckon the Pufff Daddy Ft Jimmy Page version has a bit more meat on it.
