First thing to comment on is the defender gets nowhere near the ball whatsoever with his leg massively outstretched. Sure the contact might not be "heavy" but it's still there. I'm not in favour of bringing full VAR into the championship, but if it was just used for penalty flashpoints like this I wouldn't object.

I think Campbell got booked for kicking the defender on his way past him. The only possible explanation.

He is falling down already from the photo as he don't place his right foot down. You literally have just proven my point right that he went over with no contact!?
How can you prove that he’s falling down in the image? It’s much more likely he was running in the image and he fell down as a result of the contact.

You asked for contact, you get shown an image with contact and then you argue against it anyway 🤯

In my day, mere ‘intent to foul’ was enough to give a penalty away…

I said in a post before the game that Cov players were expertly schooled in the 'dark arts' (amongst other suspect tactics) and they proved the point when they angrily surrounded Campbell accusing him of diving which helped sway the refs decision.

All this goes to prove is linesmen are becoming more and more useless. If the ref hasn't got a clear view then surely at least the linesman has? I thought they were there to help the ref?

I stand corrected and hold my hand up! Have seen a fans footage and is a clear penalty! The only reason I can think that it wasn't given is that the ref didn't have a clear view. But then why give a yellow card?
He’s a useless wanker, that’s why.

No way the linesman could give a decision from where he was. The ref was in the perfect position but possibly slightly unsighted
