In fairness to Van Dijk I would have done the same, albeit for different reasonsRefs hate making decisions, especially against big names. This one even had VAR and they couldn't give it:

Member of the goalkeepers’ union here. I have always loved watching goalkeepers, but no longer. They are clearly coached through the academies to cheat by time wasting, and this new craze for sitting down midway through the second half has made me lose all respect for them. The Coventry keeper compounded this by deliberately inciting fans behind the goal at the final whistle, and one day some idiot will react and cause a keeper serious harm. If anyone filmed the keeper’s antics at the final whistle, I suggest they send it to appropriate authorities. While we re on about keepers what the hell is going on with them just deciding to sit down anywhere on the pitch when there is no one near them. This surely has to be stopped. I know we do it but it’s getting ridiculous when on Sunday the pig 50,000th emergency keeper sat down almost on half way line and last night Coventry’s rather animated keeper did the same and just sat down. Nothing wrong with him. I think a you have to come off the pitch for length of time down or bringing on the sub keeper while they get treatment would be enough to stop this happening every game. Let’s face it keeper injuries are rare and usually happen from a set piece when area crowded not when no one near them at all.
Appreciate it would bring cost but an independent Dr rather than club physios could be one way. If the keeper goes down they are brought off for 10 minutes for a review with the Dr, with a replacement brought on in their place. There must be a GK on every bench as a name substitute. The problem I see in it, if you keep playing on there will be at some point a genuine issue caused by "the boy who cried wolf" that needs urgent medical attention and it will be missed. If the keeper stays off, the replacement keeper continues if the keeper is deemed fit enough then he can come back on but after 10 minutes.Member of the goalkeepers’ union here. My suggestion for solving this problem? Ideally a number of senior goalies would get together, and refuse to follow coaching instructions to feign injury. This won’t happen, so I would suggest that after 60 minutes, if a goalkeeper needs treatment but is not substituted, the opposing captain chooses an opposition player to be taken off the pitch for 60 seconds of time while the ball is in play, and then wait until the ball next goes out of play. While the keeper is receiving treatment, all coaching staff and subs are required to sit down away from the pitch, and any player attempting to communicate with them is booked. System to be consistently enforced.
And normally quite enjoyableDon't think there was any contact on Campbell. Deffo a tug on Seriki. A tug is a tug in my book!
I think you're wrong. He went past him and the defender grabs his wrist and pulls him back when at full tilt to get to the ball to cross it. The pull means he can't get to the ball to cross it before it goes out of play. A clear foul and pen.If you play no contact anywhere then there would be a penalty at every corner!
Seriki is a fool to himself he beat mason Clark and was In a great position, then the sniper got him . Fool.
Cambell just dived.
Referees just do not give those decisions against a Frank Lampard team. Both our players went down too easy so gave the ref the perfect excuse to wave them away. Now if a player in Frank's team went down that easily you can be sure the ref would blow the whistle.
Agree on Femi, not on TyreseIf you play no contact anywhere then there would be a penalty at every corner!

There is a photo in another post on here showing their defender does make contact with CampbellCampbell was 100% a dive. If you can show me a camera angle that proves I'm wrong, I will hold my hands up. At the time in the stand, I was 50/50!
The other, yes there was contact, but it was minimal. He went down very easy and i would be fuming if that was given against us!
Jesus christRight i said contact. Yes the foot is planted there and that is why he went over! Its common that if the attacker sees a leg hanging to the side he will try and hit it to get a foul.
Once again, show me proof of contact
He isn't falling. He isn't even looking towards the contact, so has no idea the defender's foot is even thereHe is falling down already from the photo as he don't place his right foot down. You literally have just proven my point right that he went over with no contact!?

Campbell was even shown saying to thomas ' you know you clipped me' and it wasnt done to try and convince the ref or save face. He was clearly clipped and anyone who has played at any level will know that when you are running at speed even a small clip can send you overHe isn't falling. No ones proved anything .He is falling down already from the photo as he don't place his right foot down. You literally have just proven my point right that he went over with no contact!?
The ref was a ballbagYes its clearly a dive isnt it ref
Pork? Its not a penalty! if that happened in our box with an attacker falling down, we would be fuming if a penalty was given! take your glasses off people!
Grow upPork?
I think it was Burrows that conceded a free kick late in the second half. I think it was near half way on the byline. He basically did the same thing - minimal contact on the Cov player who went down, and of course it was a free kick because it's an easy one to give.Seriki absolutely went down easy.
However, the ref gave about 5 fouls against us for exactly the same type of thing in the middle of the park.
Conclusion, nae bollocks
How about you put yours on and actually look at the evidence. Its not a penalty! if that happened in our box with an attacker falling down, we would be fuming if a penalty was given! take your glasses off people!
