In "Talking Points - 10 things to take away from the weekend," Teddy Cutler says, under the headline "Wilder has his Blades honed to a fine pitch of thrilling over-achievement":

I often wonder if Chris Wilder is the most under-rated manager in English football. Sheffield United have ensconced themselves in the play-off positions playing delightful football on a budget. The breathless come-from-behind 3-2 win at Millwall on Saturday was typical of their style under Wilder, whose team looks unlikely to collapse this season after Christmas as it did last.

He very well might be. Let's just keep it under our hats though in case those silly twats who spend millions employing the well over-rated ones realise they're fucking up!

This continuing theme of "over-achievement" is disrespectful to our Players.

He could look a right twat if we REALLY start to play.

I believe our management team could cope at the highest level given the tools. I’d like to see some of these premiership managers get a team playing such good football on such a low budget. Morihino for instance moaning because he only had £300 million to spend. Even Ricky could get a good team together for that money ;)

Sorry I disagree, and not in terms of Wilders ability.
But in the ability of multi million pound earning ‘superstars’ to give him respect.
If Pogba can stare down Mourinho, Costa can disrespect Conte, Coutuois can you engineer his move etc I honestly think the billy big bollox would hang him out to dry.
I think the same would be true if Eddie Howe or Sean Dyche, and they have proved themselves at that level.
He should stick to working with genuine lads who want to win football matches, not be a star on twatter.

Good piece of journalism and I'm with him all the way on the " unlikely to collapse after Xmas " front .

In fact ,, I believe we can get even stronger as the season goes on , providing we make the best use of the resources we already have , rather than upsetting the apple cart by bringing in players we don't really need and affecting the whole dynamic of the team , as we did in the last JTW .

Yes Steve I see what you mean. That’s just what’s wrong with the game in the premiership they’re capitulating to the players. They’re far too powerful. You could say it’s a case of the tail wagging the dog in a lot of cases.

Give us a kind run with injuries, a player to rotate with Duffy, and possibly another centre forward and anything is possible.I think January is big for us.

We still need cover for Duffy in the January transfer window.

Luke Freeman might be that man (permanent)

And we still need a top quality forward (on loan)

If we could only afford to get anotber two in then these would be the positions to strengthen imo.

A lot rests on whether Wilder can get a tune out of Woodburn, ideally in Duffy's position. As others have said Duffy is the key man [and has been for sometime imo] but we have to expect he will pick up a knock and/or fatigue wil kick in at some point.
McG could also find himself covering in there, he certainly has the skills, but likewise getting a full season injury free might be a big ask.

I would cream myself if we could prize Freeman away from QPR in January, just imagine him and Duffy rotating us through the run in behind our strikers!

There is no one in our squad who can do what Duffy does , so we better find cover for him in January , unless we've cloned him in the secret laboratories under the Kop.

And Duffy.

I’d start looking for his replacement now because that’s going to be a hard one to replace.

I agree , and it's nice to see that the little maestro is finally getting the recognition he so thoroughly deserves both on this forum and from management. Some have been so busy creaming their jeans about Fleck and Coutts ( both fine players) that his invaluable contribution to our success over the last two and a half years has often been overlooked.

If the worst comes to the worst and , for whatever reason he becomes unavailable for selection, we'll just have to suck it up and make do with a midfield of Norwood , Coutts and Fleck .

I know , life can be a bitch , eh ? ;)
