For us to be able to relegate Wednesday we need:

Leicester to take at least 1 point but no more than 3 points in the next 2 games,

Blackburn to take at least 1 point but no more than 3 in the next 2

Leicester play at Blackburn in last match of the season.

Wednesday will be relegated we'll before the last game of the the season lol
No I meant if Blackburn and Leicester lose their next two games and Wendy lose at Millwall then we can relegate Wendy on the 22nd as long as Portsmouth dont get more than 2 points in next three games and WBA dont get more than 2 points in next two games meaning Blackburn and Leicester will be irrelevant when working out the scenario you are talking about

Yeah but the point is that they can't both lose every game remaining. That game means at least one of them gets 3 points, or they both get 1.

You have to take that into account when calculating whether SWFC (1990) are relegated out not.

The same is true of Blackburn and WBA who are yet to play their second match this season.

No you don't it is irrelevant whether Blackburn or Leicester lose every game the fact is if Sheffield Wednesday win every game 25-0 they still only get 3 points for a win so if they are 40 points behind with 39 to play for its irrelevant whether Leicester beat Blackburn in may

We can't relegate them if Leicester and Blackburn lose their next 2 games, both of those teams are currently 39 points ahead of Wednesday if neither takes a point then after the final whistle at the derby Wednesday will be 39 points adrift still with 39 to play for so mathematically they can stay up, Portsmouth and wba don't come into the equation as they are already 40 points clear of Wednesday so Wednesday cannot mathematically catch them if they lose the next 2, so we need all 4 teams to be 40 points clear of them, 2 already are

You do know their goal difference is minus 44 😂which in my book is the extra point

Yes I am aware but my point is we cannot mathematically relegate them unless Leicester and Blackburn get at least a point, we all know they are already down but there is a reason they don't put the R next to them yet and they won't whilst they are not mathematically down

If Wendy lose to Millwall, then they can finish on 35 points if they win their last 14 games.

If both Blackburn and Leicester lose their next two games it will mean they are on 32 points on the 22nd of February. If we Beat Wendy, then Wendy will get 32 points if they win their last 13 games. Either Blackburn and Leicester are guaranteed a point when they play each other on May 2nd meaning it will be impossible for all Wendy, Oxford, Blackburn and Leicester to finish with 32 points each.

I’m with Silent - cos he’s done what I can’t be arsed to do and he’s correct 99.9% of the time.

How many times do you need telling that the Blackburn v Leicester match will not mean that both teams will get no points from the fixture?

Blackburn DO NOT play Leicester in the next 2 games therefore it is completely irrelevant what can you not understand about a game in May having absolutely no impact on whether Sheffield Wednesday get relegated in February 😂😂 I shall try and explain in simpler terms,

Assuming Sheffield Wednesday lose to Millwall and us that means they have 39 points to play for,
Blackburn are currently 39 points ahead of Sheffield Wednesday so if Blackburn get no more points in the next 2 games Sheffield Wednesday will still be 39 points behind them

Leicester are currently 39 points ahead of Sheffield Wednesday so if Blackburn get no more points in the next 2 games Sheffield Wednesday will still be 39 points behind them therefore they CANNOT be relegated

However if Leicester or Blackburn get a point on the next 2 games, they are not playing each other by the way then one of them will move to 40 points ahead of Sheffield Wednesday which means that Sheffield Wednesday would still only get 39 so they will be relegated

Then if 3 months later Leicester and Blackburn draw that's fab but is completely irrelevant to Wednesday staying up

Oh my Giddy Aunt! You still dont understand!

Silent in simpler terms, does a defeat for Leicester on Tuesday (and presuming Wednesday losing to Millwall Saturday) gurantee that we can send them down?
Leicester have a match at Stoke on the 21st, the day before we play Wendy.

I think there is about 5% chance Wendy go down on the 14th, 50% chance they go down on the 21st, roughly 40% chance they go down on the 22nd.

Would be a great song. Instead of “he’s one of our own”

“He sent Wednesday down
He sent Wednesday down
Chrissy Wilder
He sent Wednesday down!”

😉

WHO SENT THE WEDNESDAY TO LEAGUE ONE
WHO SENT THE WEDNESDAY TO LEAGUE ONE
WHO SENT THE WEDNESDAY TO LEAGUE ONE

CHRISSY FUCKIN WILDER!!

You're having a stinker here.

Because Leicester and Blackburn still have to play each other, it's impossible that both can reach that total, so the pigs will be mathematically down.

It's irrelevant when they play each other.

Right I'm going to take a crack at explaining this in a way that makes sense.

Consider the scenario after the Derby.
SWFC (1990) are 39 points behind both Leics and Blackburn with 39 left to play for. Blackburn are 3rd bottom. Leics are 4th bottom.

SWFC (1990)'s only route to survival is to win all their games to finish on the same points totals as both Blackburn and Leics.

They also then need to hope that those 2 teams lose all their remaining games.

And they need to overtake the GD advantage those teams have.

So let's assume that all happens up to the final game of the season.

Oxford are down. SWFC(1990) having been spanked at BDTBL, have remarkably won their next 12 games. At the same time, remarkably, Blackburn and Leics have LOST their remaining games. SWFC (1990) have also managed to have the best GD of the three teams.

So going into that last match, SWFC (1990) are 3 points behind and need to win and hope that Blackburn and Leicester both lose. If that happens they would finish 4th bottom.

Having not looked at the fixtures they quickly check before the match who Blackburn and Leics are playing, and see this...

It dawns on them that one, or both, of those teams will avoid defeat. They are already down. In fact, they were down when they got spanked at BDTBL.

Fin...

Here's another way of understanding it...

Imagine it's the last game of the season. Pigs are 2 points behind Leicester and Blackburn but have a worse goal difference to both.

Leicester are playing Blackburn. They can't both lose, so a draw would keep them both up
