Failed by a whisker after falling into the last chance saloon which is the playoffs.

We had the squad to go up automatically last season in my opinion and blew it.

Then why has it taken you most of this season to turn on Blackwell?

If you can be bothered (don't blame you if you can't) to look back I said he deserved this season and that I didn't like him or his style of play but we shouldn't sack him if the playoffs were still a possibility. I don't believe that to still be the case and therefore he has failed in his objectives and should be replaced.

I don't think it is good for the club to be seen as sacking a manager as a knee jerk reaction to a couple of results.
I think it will damage your recruitment of sort after manager at our level if he thinks the fans can turn and the board will jump.

.

Perhaps we can run with Blackie next season and wait until he's got us into the same position as Robbo did?

It won't mater as he'll only be pissin off about 16000?

It's already been cut! He had the luxury last season and we missed out by a whisker. This season he's been asked to completely reprofile. To keep us in the top half during such a monumental overhaul is a massive achievement. Fuck that, though. He's a twat. He doesn't know what he's doing. Gary Speed is the manager. O'Driscoll in.
For us to remain in the top half during our "overhaul" is in no way due to blackwells good management. It simply reflects that this is the poorest quality championship on record.
Blackwell has made consistently poor decisions this (and last) season and has failed to deliver the goods - Not promotion, but decent entertaining football.
You dont have to pay millions for players in fees and wages to play decent football that is entertaining.
What WE have to accept though, as supporters, is that Blackwell will not resign. He's on too much of a good thing and he knows that nobody else in the Championship would give him a job. (except perhaps Peterborough??)
The only way to get Blackwell removed is for as many people as possible to write to Birch/McCabe and express total disatisfaction (politely and eloquently).
I only hope for the sake of those of us who like to be entertained while we support, that he is gone before the end of the season. Otherwise we can look forward to more of the likes of low quality loan signings and neckache next season.

Without defending Blackwell, don't the players have to stand up and take some responsibility?

Yes, they are his players and his responsibility, but once again, far too many let him down today.
They actually let US down yesterday not Blackwell.
But its fair to say that if there was a gameplan (plan A that is ..... there is no plan B) or any sort of organisation, then it was very well disguised.
It was noteable that at the Blackpool game, Speed was in the technical area and we played the most football I have seen us play all season. Blackwell was in the mouth of the tunnel nearly all game.
Yesterday, Blackwell is back in the technical area shouting his tactical pearls of wisdom and Speed was in the stand with Morgs ...... and we were clueless.
He needs to go now, to give plenty of time to find a manager BEFORE pre - season training begins.

I agree to a point with that Foxy and you have to question why they are not putting in a shift but there are 2 things that annoy
me more than anything.

1. The way he sets out a team from the start 2 deep banks of 4 in order to 'contain' the opposition whoever they are. So we are always on the back foot.
2. His total inability to change things while a game is in progress.
Perhaps he would be better sat high in the stands and see just what is happening. Maybe then he would see the same game as everyone else.
I feel that his talents could be utilised within the "Blades family" by a simple re-deployment process. I'm sure West Coast Mariners could benefit from being shown "the Blades way" first hand.
How about it Mr.Birch ...... that would save having to pay Blackwell compensation if we didnt sack him but relocated him.
He could take Ellis with him!
