You like... his physique? That it 😅
Probably not worth spending millions then.

For midfielders he's towards the top percentile for;

dribbles attempted
successful dribble percentage
tackles won
aerial duels won
percentage aerial duals won
Interceptions
and blocks

Could be wrong but if Brentford are serious then they would surely be favourites?
If we are using data analytics and Des Taylor’s Roladex we could keep fishing int same pond as Brentford. Serves me right for bed wetting when they beat us at Lane after I had dubbed them a set of village Morris Dancers

If you want to try and benchmark him/his qualities you can use Fanne at Luton. Bought recently from AIK. Similar type of player, position, coming from the same league etc. For more household names to compare him with - think McDonald Mariga and Victor Wanyama.

For me, I like him yes - but I feel we could find players like him closer to where we are?. He is good and have a lot if potential but the type of player he is, the characteristics in terms of physique and power, will do go forward and break the lines its great but I have a sense there you could find a similar player to Ouma in L1 or L2 with a proper scouting strategy, network and recruitment plan in place…

He definitely has the potential to develop into a top player at Championship level or even PL, but I would rather see us investing in a proper scouting network that could discover guys like him in an earlier stage - instead of when media starts to write about them (maybe he was on our radar long ago but doubt it).

Ok, a more detailed view:

Physique is a huge part of modern football. Any player who can maintain a high level of explosivity and a good number of maximum/high paced runs (intensity) will be interesting to any club... The ability to break lines is also very attractive - especially if you are a big midfielder who can handle the physical game. Many players with good size are often too much of a "2-stroke", lacking explosiveness to go forward/adjust to higher pace and tempo in games. We all love these midfielders (any player really) that just suddenly shifts tempo and fly by his opponents/breaking the lines and opens up space, right?

Keeping the intensity while being decent with the ball obviously helps. He got all of this, together with the classic physical attributes such as stamina and strength. I also like THE WAY he break opposition lines, mainly from game zone 1 -> 2 but also in some cases up to game zone 3. He does this by transporting the ball himself with his physique in addition to finding team mates in more advanced positions with his passing game (not tooooooo risky).

Having said all of this, I am still not sure if we should spend this much money on him now. Read my comments on Benie before we signed him for reference :)
