Yes, the ref. was abysmal. After only adding one minute to the first half (when the pen. took 2-3 mins.) it was obvious at least 5 minutes would be added at the end of the game. A board from the fourth official would have helped, none appeared and it can only suggest the ref. had totally lost control.
Yes, although Oldham deserved a draw, they took advantage of a weak ref. You get Third Division refs. in the Third Division. They scored in the sixth minute of injury time and he finally blew after adding a total of 7 minutes on.
Right. That's how I saw it. But isn't that the way to play to get out of this goddammed division? Worked for Charlton and Wednesday last season. Isn't it time we grew a backbone and stood toe-to-toe with these footballing thugs? Better, surely, than this 'attactive' football Wilson has introduced i.e 15 passed sideways and backwards. Killer ball? Don't make me laugh.
And Foxy, you seem to be upset at Dichov's antics on the touchline. Ever thought it might just catch the eye and influence a pathetically weak ref. like we had today. Far more than Wilson's tailors dummy impression.
As ever, the first half passed without a single shot or corner. We're the home team. Oldham are hardly world beaters. Ever heard of 'bossing a game', Wilson?
I thought Kitson did well today, but too many had 'a bad day at the office'. The sight of Oldham's goalie coming up for a corner with two-and-a-half minutes to go (plus at least 5 more to come) showed us waving the white flag. At home, defending a corner and not a single player near the halfway line? WTF? And that pathetic free kick where nobody attempted to even enter their box - we might as well have laid a huge 'Welcome' mat out. All the way to our goal.
And while it's always a pisser conceding a late, late equaliser, console yourself. If Oldham had scored 10 or 15 minutes earlier, they'd have probably won.
The buck has to stop with Wilson today.
