Time added on

Hated all the fake injuries. I wish a player who received treatment had to be off the pitch for as long as the treatment took before coming back on. That’d sort out the cheats.

Wasting time in itself is not a real issue. As others have pointed out, it didn't matter how much the ref had added on yesterday as we wouldn't have scored in a month of Sundays. The real effect of the time wasting is the stop/start nature of the play which results. It becomes very difficult for the team chasing the game to maintain any momentum and how you can address this I haven't got a fucking clue.

Fucking ref was a right homer, and Bolton played like the home side. We've done ourselves no favours by playing shit.

Bolton time wasted but they weren’t in the same league as Norwich. I think they’re probably the worst I’ve ever seen.

Aside from the obvious short added time which I was expecting 8 minutes the ref was poor he stopped to listen to their players at every stoppage, instead of simply putting up his hand and sending them away.
He delayed the game's flow more than Bolton's players, no authority at all .The best refs are the ones that you don't notice and the game flows instead of a stand around and chat performance.

He was a right posing ‘look at me’ type of cunt. Typified by one instance in the 2nd half when he picked the ball up and marched across the pitch with it under his arm like he was Brian Glover (the PE teacher) from KES.

I timed their first bit of blatant time wasting as being in the 15th minute of the match.
This really needs sorting out properly. People are spending a lot of money to watch football nowadays and its just not acceptable.
Suggestions:

- Ref stopping the clock when there are stoppages (like in Rugby), so everyone can see it
- 10 minute sin bins for time wasting
- Immediate cards for it including being prepared to give two yellows to goal keepers for doing it (they know at the moment that even if they get a yellow they never get another one).

Not sure about sin bins in football but definitely up for stopping the clock instead of an official making up an amount between 1 and 5 and maybe 6 on special occasions.

I'd also love to see a retreat rule in football that said once the ref has indicated which way a free kick/throw in is going that the opposition simply can't touch the ball. Some leeway for late reactions, but none of the pick the ball up, walk fifteen yards, throw it back five yards.

I’m more concerned about our inability to create and take chances

Leon’s celebrated his new contract with a famous miss of the season

Have you watched it back mate? The ball is behind him and he just sticks out his back foot to it and hooks it over. He did well to contact with the ball at all. It looked bad at the time but on the replay you can see it wasn't the miss we thought at the time. That's my view anyway.

I agree that no amount of time added on would have helped us score. However there is an increasing tendency for teams to waste so much time within a game that most fans become annoyed. The problem does not lie with the team though. The fourth official is the time keeper and more action should be taken by the FA to ensure all time wasting is added on at the end of the game. The referee also plays an important role here as the y should be taking more action warning players. If players or team carries on then cautions should be issued. Supporters are being short changed with deliberate time wasting. I noted that from the very first goal kick the Bolton keeper was taking over a minute just to place the ball for his kick. Also he held onto the ball for over 10 seconds several times. Is the 5 second rule still an offence or has that been changed.
