Probably wouldn't have made a huge difference today as we were crap, but the time wasting and time added on is a complete joke.

I timed 8 mins of injury time today with the head injuries, then flecks head injury, and all the subs.

Ref add's on 6 mins. I time it again, and he only plays 5 mins of the 6 mins.

Bolton's time wasting from 65 mins on today was a disgrace. Not saying it would have impacted the result, but I just wish referee's would hold teams accountable when they clearly just kill the tempo and the game.

I’m more concerned about our inability to create and take chances

Leon’s celebrated his new contract with a famous miss of the season

Surely it is the fourth official that puts up the time to be added on. Nothing to do with the ref except presumably the time is a minimum so the ref can add further for additional injuries, time wasting etc.. Academic really but no one knows how the added time is calculated. It's another football lottery.

I timed their first bit of blatant time wasting as being in the 15th minute of the match.
This really needs sorting out properly. People are spending a lot of money to watch football nowadays and its just not acceptable.
Suggestions:

- Ref stopping the clock when there are stoppages (like in Rugby), so everyone can see it
- 10 minute sin bins for time wasting
- Immediate cards for it including being prepared to give two yellows to goal keepers for doing it (they know at the moment that even if they get a yellow they never get another one).

It's one of many frustrating things with "modern football".

The Bolton injury took 2:20 off the clock. The Fleck injury took another 2:35. That's five minutes for these two injuries alone.

Aside from the obvious short added time which I was expecting 8 minutes the ref was poor he stopped to listen to their players at every stoppage, instead of simply putting up his hand and sending them away.
He delayed the game's flow more than Bolton's players, no authority at all .The best refs are the ones that you don't notice and the game flows instead of a stand around and chat performance.

Another day Leon would have had a hat trick, absolutely nothing went our way today, foul luck, foul ref, poor decision making, wasn’t to be
Agree totally with that. We could quite easily won that 3 or 4-1 with Leon’s chances alone. Just one of those days I think.

But what a horrible niggly dirty side Bolton are. Reminded me very much of Norwich.

How things have changed from last season or even earlier this season. Billy's playing a role which isn't really suited to him, especially when he doesn't get the service

Problem is when Billy’s not scoring he offers nothing else, lately his hold up play has been non existent, first touch horrid, off ball and defensively he hasn’t been putting the effort in, Leon meanwhile does all of the above so can be forgiven when he doesn’t hit the back of the net

Fwiw I fucking love Billy, but he’s not cutting it right now

Expected nothing less from yet another inept referee. Total knob.

As said above though, we could have played another 45 and I doubt we'd have scored today. Hopelessly flat and out of sync in all areas of the pitch.

We could have carried on playing til midnight but we still wouldn't have fucking scored.

The most pointless decision was when Simon Moore had the ball and the ref insisted on awarding a bounce up, with only Moore involved. Why?

Did same with their keeper as well, then sprinted away like a freak

That was the whole point, to show off his sprinting skills. Looked like a total bellend when he did it and made suspect today was more about him displaying his magnificent physique to the world than actually officiating a football match.

Fair play to him. Got us home/to the pub quicker didn’t he. An extra 2 minutes there rather than watching us fail to score a goal was the best thing he could’ve done for us today.

The ref was a bit weak but he did not impact the result at all for me. Too easy to hid behind the time wasting excuse. Teams have done it this year and will continue to do it. We will do it also when we win games (Bolton away we did it!!!). Up to us to be better. The ref does not keep hitting the first man on a cross or miss guilt edged chances

I agree with others that we simply weren’t good enough or take our chances but the refs do have to be better in every aspect. Even in the first half, the 1 minute that was put up wasn’t long enough and that pissed me off more than the second half stoppage time of 6 minutes.

What they should do for me is make the game 35 minutes each way like rugby with a 10 minute break and stop the clock for every time the ball isn’t in play, there’s enough money and officials in the game now to do this, it would stop all this stoppage time bollocks.

I don’t really get this. Billy was playing up front with Clarke. He just doesn’t play close enough to him for me. I thought Clarke won a lot of balls and was laying them off with his head but no one was near him or anticipating it. Billy just looks a bit slow and off the pace to me. He backs into players a lot and goes down looking for a foul too often. To me this was nothing to do with him not getting the service, he just had a poor game, as did several others.

I still think the main problem is we just take too long to build attacks. It gives the opposition chance to retreat and get 10 men behind the ball. Then it’s like watching a blind man trying to thread a needle as we switch it left and right, back and forth, in and out, looking for the killer pass into the box.

We’re making it more difficult than it should be. Look at Bolton’s goal. Quick break down the flank, first time cross into the box, players misjudge it and bang! 1-0. It’s really that easy if you break quickly as the defending team have few players to defend it and if one player misjudges it it’s an opportunity on goal.

The ref was the fastest person on the pitch today!

Shades of Roger Kirkpatrick, without the fun!

His acceleration over 20 metres was impressive, as he repeatedly enjoyed showing us.

Academic really but no one knows how the added time is calculated. It's another football lottery.

The referee keeps track of the amount of time to be added on by stopping one of his two stop-watches when the game is stopped due to injuries, substitutions etc. Approaching the 90 minute mark he compares the two watches and then indicates to the 4th official the amount of time to be added on (the difference between the two watches) and the 4th official displays it on the board.

Name me a team that doesn't try and time waste when they're 1-0 up away from home
