Ticket prices are out

Because if you don't, they earn £0.00000p out of your spend.

They ain't daft and they ain't blind. All they've seen on message boards is how a) How everyone who hasn't got a ST will not be attending regularly and b) Looking forward to some new grounds to visit. So loads of revenue lost and as a by-product a proportion of that going straight into the pockets of their rivals. This is a way of some sort of clawback whilst re-inforcing the protection of the value of the ST.

In reality, it should have absolutely no impact at all, as all the away tickets should be snapped up by STH's anyway, given that the venues will be fresh and allocations in some of these places much smaller, particularly if the season goes well. But, as so often these days, they've still managed to piss loads of already pissed off people off even more.

So theoretically you could end up buying a membership card and being lower down the pecking order than a ST holder for away games at small grounds and not get a ticket anyhow?

I suspect there will be plenty of blades fans sat in home sections next season.

Add in to the mix Loyalty Points - who gets priority, a new STH or the lapsed one with x years behind him? - and wait for the big bang.

I suspect one Blades fan will be sticking by his self appointed rule that anything over £15 is too much to pay to watch a game of football.

If that means that I continue to spend my saturdays watching semi pro and amatuer football then so be it. Its a better all round day out.

At what point will enough people join me? Viva la revolution.

All the real blades will be there though and thats whats important.

That's nothing new, it's been like that since the loyalty points system came in.

In the past, apart from the big games, it's not often that away allocations haven't got to general sale so the likelihood of being a member and not getting a ticket wouldn't be that high for most games.

I'm guessing tickler there are several thousand that have their own way of spending a Saturday afternoon doing something else this last few years. I know some can't wait until the ground is empty of "part timers" but if McCabe and co aren't careful they are plotting to have a two thirds empty ground at this rate.

No cheap tickets or offers this season.
Membership Cards having to be purchased for away games.
etc etc etc.

If the product is shite its not a good idea to make it "exclusive".

What if there is a scenario where we aren't going to sell out an away game - are we just going to tell people without a membership card they can't go??

****it ive had enough of all this crap , so you now have to be a member to go to an away game , i might not even bother next season , all that seems to be coming out of the lane at the moment is pr talk and then go in for the kill and screw the fans once more. So im seriously thinking that my 400 mile round trip to a home game, plus the odd away game will not be happening for me anymore . IVE HAD ENOUGH !!

Didn't they also say there would only be two Cat C games this season?

Bury - 2000
Carlisle - 1700
Charlton - 3000
Chesterfield - 2000
Colchester - 2000
Exeter - 1000 (Uncovered)
Hartlepool - 1000
Huddersfield - 4000
Leyton Orient - 1000

Now i think it's highly unlikely that we'll sell out the max possible allocations for any of those games, but of course more than possible we'l sell out of our initial allocation

Am I right in saying that the only people who lose out here are people who will go to 7 home games or fewer but want to go to at least one away game?

That must be a tiny percentage of fans.

And mainly exiles and foreign blades. Which are highly represented on a forum such as this which explains the negative reaction.

Personally I think if they did it with a basic member having a higher prio for away tickets than a non-member, that would sweep up 99% of away tickets, leaving any general sale tickets really available for those one off people.

If demand was outstripping supply then I can understand the need to arrange some form of prioritisation but, it isn’t. Therefor there is absolutely need for so many bizarre and pointless tiers of memberships, renewal deadlines, differing prices for different people and loyalty schemes.

It seems that if I want to buy a ticket on the family stand that I need to be wearing a 1982 replica shirt and be holding a proof of Bladesness certificate signed by Tony Curry (using a pink marker pen). Only then am I allowed to purchase tickets. But only on the kop and only on the third thursday preceeding the match I want to attend and only before 7:32am and only if the month in which I want to purchase them contains the letter N.

All of the above is true only if SUFC hold a full account of my family tree dating back to 1712 BC and have a bucket of my spit for DNA purposes.

If i fail to meet all of the criteria then I must add 1p to the price of the ticket for every year that has passed between 1889 and the year i was born.

Just phoned the ticket office, and they have confirmed that you will need to be a member (And have loyalty points) to purchase away tickets next season.

Will season ticket holders need to purchase membership too? Unbelievable if that's the case.

Season Tickets Holders wont need to purchase membership, the season ticket makes them a member.

I dont really see what all the fuss is about with this tbh, i dont have a season ticket, but will probably go to about 9 or 10 home games and definately 2 or 3 away games so if it saves me a couple of quid, allows me to top up my loyalty points and gives me some priority for the away games i want to go to then it is fine with me.

The club is trying its best to generate ideas that brings them in a bit of cash and in return gives the fan a little something back. So what if its on £2 on each ticket and some discounts at races, atleast it is something.

Our kids a season ticket holder, can't he get me a ticket for away matches. (am livin darn sarth).

I will go to 2 home games max, and in all likelihood none at all, since i rarely get back to Sheffield at all these days.

The requirement to be a member to purchase away tickets is quite frankly bollocks.

Will have to meet up at west spam HIGHBURY and take the piss there, when united are away.

Interesting figures. I'm sure we'll take 2,000 to Chesterfield and there are a few others which might sell out, but the basic point is right - away tickets won't be all that difficult to come by.

I can live with paying the £15. I'll get some - not all - of it back in discounts for home game, and I dislike the fact that since I started going mostly to away games (basically because it's just a better atmosphere and more fun) most of my football spending each season goes to other clubs.

So are we assuming that none of the away games will have tickets available on the away teams gate?

I think it is lame to expect people to buy to be a 'member' just so they're able to get tickets.
