I don't think he's particularly good with his back to goal, quick or that good in the air. His best attributes are his movement, passing (link play) and finishing. He also has good feet. For me Sharp, Mcnulty and Done are much of a muchness, but Done and Sharp have attributes that should be more complimentary (Done's pace, Sharp's hold up play and decent aerial presence). I completely understand why he'd loan one of Mcnulty and Done out, with Mcnulty costing the least and needing game time to develop - it seems the logical choice. I rate all three as good goal poachers at this level. You could argue we didn't need Sharp.
explain why he doesn't fit into a 2 up top with Billy when he hasn't been tried?
Agreed, he was average up top for us (as a stand in when o'grady/davis/ et al weren't available). He has never been played up top on his own for Livingston and Cook doesn't play him up top on his own, but in a 2.
Just an opinion, but if we now have no money available, Mcnulty will be back next season to play with our other kids - if all the rumours we hear are true.
