i'm not convinced after three games but the opposition was better when stearman played. also he is new... i won't be booing anyone but i think you like to be contrary mateStearman hasn't put a foot wrong. He's better than Wright. Sorry, I know that doesn't suit the party line. Perhaps we can let Tufty know by booing Stearman if he's selected ahead of our favourite?
My thoughts...good 3 points against a poor side, we should have scored more. Duffy MOTM for me...personally thought he was excellent.
Clarke was an idiot...Wilder will not be happy with what he did.
Evans was worse than shit when he came on. The hero-worship of him is pathetic. He looked slow, lethargic and his first touch was beyond awful. Lavery is streets ahead of him currently.
We played fairly well, they were poor, we still need 2-3 more to be more competitive, not every team will be as poor as Barnsley.

Everyone has their own opinions mate...personally I thought CE was awful when he came on. I hope he attains full fitness and proves me wrong, I really do, but based on his performance today I'm very dissapointed.I was liking your post until the last paragraph.

Erm, didn't we play in red and white at Cardiff?Just a thought here.
After playing 5 games ,1 cup 4 league ,we've won 3 games in red & white and lost 2 in not blue & white !!!
I've liked what I've seen of Stearman so far but I thought Jake was excellent (as usual) yesterday. Good to have them both, unlike some local teams who's back up centre halves are makeshift defensive midfielders!Stearman hasn't put a foot wrong. He's better than Wright. I was going to mention that too, really put a shift in, as they all did. First half, Duffy was stood with Fleck on the left side at our free kick and when they broke away from it, Duffy turned up at right back to make the challenge and cut out their attack.I agree, I thought Stevens and Freeman had good games today at both ends of the pitch.
Late on in the game Freeman got upended in front of their goal and seconds later was back in our box making two crucial interceptions.
Duffy was good and I think he offers a better link-up option than Samir - which seemed to suit today's game.
Also, not seen it mentioned yet but I thought Freeman had really good game.
Barnsley played defensively and gave the ball away cheaply. They were very poor and we defended well, thwarting them at every opportunity. I listened to their fans as they marched to the ground calling Sheffield a shit hole, the usual pathetic chant about Ched and their pathetic abuse about us as dee dahs so it was karma to see us match them at every turn
I thought Clarke was having a decent game until his act of stupidity, totally changed the flow of the game for both sides and led to the scrappy second half.
Brooks looks a talent, hold your nerve Mr. McCabe,
Billy Sharp will score goals if you provide the service which all sensible people realise.
Duffy is a much better option than Carruthers which I have been trying to point out for weeks.
Evans looked way off the pace.

firstly Barnsley are shit and I expect them to be relegated. I'm sure Roy's view from will be them blaming the ref but we were far better before and after the sending off.
Clarke isn't quick enough in movement and thought, at least at the moment, he may grow into the league but I'm not sure.
Fucking stupid sending off as well. Cheds not match fit so it leaves us with a problem, I guess lavery will come in.
Duffy was outstanding motm.
Brooks looks exciting but not the finished article by any means.
Fucking lines men are shit in this league, more incorrect offsides.
Coutts and fleck played well and no complaints from the defence, Stevens slightly iffy in possession but that's nit picking.
Should have finished them off and we dropped deep at the end again despite wilders protestations
Really important game to win and I'm going the enjoy watching the results coming in.

Totally agree Sheffielder. The first 30 mins of the game we just over-ran Barnsley it was Blades at their best. The management team had learned a bit from the two defeats and the ball was moved quickly mostly to feet through the midfield to the wide players with crosses coming in regularly. When we lost a bit of that tempo they got more possession. After the sendings off the game changed any long balls to Sharp who worked tirelessly up front just came back at us. I think like last season we are progressing as the fitness levels improve. Think Derby will struggle against us but do think we will miss Clarke. It seems to be a running theme going through the forum that Barnsley were poor. Yes they were but I believe it was because we were on it and made them poor. We should have won 3 or 4 but apart from a meh 10-15 minutes in the middle of the 1st half we really gave it to them.
And Duffy is the catalyst in the team for making things happen. Must start if fit we are just more creative and forward thinking with him.Totally agree Sheffielder. Evans is nowhere near football fit. He looks gaunt compared to what he used to be and is miles away from starting imo.
I'm surprised that both aren't on the bench tbh! Need more than 1 striker as an option to change - Lavery and Ched would provide a completely different dynamic up front if a change were needed during a gameMuch of the decision is down to the recent Walsall match.
Ched did more in 30 minutes than what Lavery did in 60 minutes.
Ched looked easily the better striker.
Think Lavery can be a good option off the bench though.

Good point about off sides, we seem to be getting caught a lot with this are the linesmen bad or is it the speed of this league our forwards our struggling with?
Why didn't he just laugh in the kids face and then it's 11 v 10 and 1-0 up?
I'm not particularly a Ched fan and I wouldn't have signed him this summer BUT having said that he looked to be three times the player that Lavery was when he replaced him in the Walsall game.To be honest, not sure why Ched is getting the nod over Lavery. Hasn't done anything that I've seen to merit the preference from the bench. Think maybe Wilder's investing in his need to prove something. Lot of effort, but not a lot to show so far. I think maybe Lavery would be a better option still.
Tin hat on.
We started off on fire and deservedly took the lead. The sending offs ruined the game IMO. Clarke was stupid for doing what he did, and with his experience should know better. Thought we were the better team throughout the game without playing anywhere near our best, and should've scored a few more. Bit frustrating how we sat back and invited pressure on in the last ten min though.
Thought Duffy played well, aswell as brooks when he came on. Was hard for sharp after the sending off as he's not the sort of player who can play as a lone striker.
Only downside was thought freeman had a poor game and the quicker baldock is fit the better. And also we need to be taking our chances as against the better teams we will get punished
