  • Connor Sammon's leap is not quite what nominative determinism would suggest, also he's have scored today if his shiny bald head had a better coefficient of friction.
  • There is a footballer hiding inside Paul Coutts, maybe if we get him wet or feed him after midnight we'll be able to see it.
  • Despite having played against him 4 times in the past 2 years, Jim Hanson can still on occasion make our defenders look like muppets.
  • There is nothing more joyous in life than watching Billy Sharp booty bounce someone to the deck
  • John Brayford is back with a vengeance, the left side of their defence will be having fuzzy featured nightmares about that second half for weeks.
  • Shouting at the referee to tell him that the ball is a bit out of the corner quadrant is both big and clever, I think that this should happen even when the ball is within the corner quadrant. It's the most exciting thing to happen to football since free kick shaving foam
  • Jay McEvely played so well that we all forgot to shout at him

Sammon isn't about flick ons really despite what Keith says/wants. I think he tries to control the ball. Doesn't always work but that's what he's doing.

He set Billy off on the run that led to the missed sitter with a typical piece of gaining possession and laying it off.

Woolford got a generous round of applause. Again defensively disciplined and a great cross for the goal. His best game, and MoM(!) from one young fan :-)

Coutts showed some real class - and occasional pace over very short distances. Him and the Beard enjoy playing together.

At 1-0 it looked like a Clough game.

Collins in particular lost headers for the first time this season.

What does McEveley have to do to get sent off? Looked like a forearm smash today.

Bash can't pass.

Hammond won a lot in midfield. Beginning to tell.

Another great save from Long.

What a game from Billy.

Passing is still very ponderous at times. We look good when we zip it around.

Is Bash suspended?

Coutts goes down with head injuries to break up the game - end of first half.

We've been bullied out of games a few times. Not no more. "I'm the one who knocks."

Billy Sharp was awesome, his crossing and work rate were unreal - like a man posessed at times

I posted we were about to turn a corner a few weeks back , got some real negative responses from some , but its starting to look clearer to more now that perhaps we are getting our mojo back as our better players start to find match fitness after injuries.
Ner ner na ner ner, you were right and they were wrong! I'm just happy we played bits of football that gave me a massive stupid grin - esp down our right in the second half

no , just an honest call

we needed Brayford and other better players match fit to click

its that that is changing the way we perform

since the beard returned we are a different team

We are, and huge credit to Brayford. But there's more to it that that. The manager has realised we were a bunch of pussies and toughened us up. We are more physical, more direct - it looks like we stand for something at last.

Players like Brayford urge those under performing to be better thats his biggest assett
Some players are finally showing their worth , this is changing our season , finally

I enjoyed the screaming about the ball not being in the quadrant, although I'm almost sure that so long as the whole ball is touching the line, it's fine, which is how it looked from the right side of the kop where I was.

Billy Sharp was amazing and even I was willing him to get a 2nd goal, especially in front of their fans. He seems to have the confidence in his own ability to play well and confidence enough to also hassle and wind up the opposition, I'd hate to play against a player like that.

Watching Brayford and Coutts link up today was worth the ticket price alone for me, first time in a while I've seen United players knock it about and not think to myself "I could do better than that" some great 1 touch passing and runs into space, top stuff.

Gutted about conceding a goal because 3-0 really emphasised the level of performance.

Let's hope this wasn't just because we had Boxing day off!

More surprising I was one of the few who agreed with you, there has been a definite change since the Shrewsbury debacle.

Brayford coming back.... Coutts getting fitter (at last).... Sharp finding his scoring boots (and people recognising his overall contribution) are all huge steps forward. But for me.... the slow burner that's really starting to pay dividends and will be a real difference is Hammond. A quality upgrade on Doyle. Just wish we got him when he was 5 years younger. Does the ugly stuff without getting noticed.

But let's just praise the whole team today. Great result and performance. Allows me to go out in Bingley tonight with head held high.

Might return home with fewer teeth though.... The Bantams are a bit sore....!

Bingley, know it well Currie! Surveyed Bingley Town Hall a few years back! Enjoy your night and hope you don't end up in the amazing nightspot that is Bradford!

I believe MCeVERLY S providing the no nonsense muscle for now
we had a soft under belly and lacked a bit of raw brutality
I wouldnt under estimate his two penny worth , the un seen ugly bit

no finnesse at all just forming a barrier
Morgans finally got some tips in his head it seems

Haha

No danger of me being found in the fleshpots of of Bradford Mr Booker.

Bingley has had it a bit tough with the floods past few days...... but authorities are expecting more problems tonight as thousands of BCFC hats are expected to be floating down the river Aire..... with a Bantam under every one of 'em!

It's an interesting point. The referee reacted to the fans' complaints more than once, when the fans have no authority, in my view, the ref's pandering to the crowd, it makes no real difference to the corner.

In fact, in the second half, Bradford took a corner before the ref reacted to the shouts from H Block. That corner was harmless, but then had to be re-taken..... and they scored.

Be careful what you wish for is my conclusion :-)

We were excellent today, Sharp was outstanding, Coutts not far behind him. Loved the banter between Billy & the Bradford fans too, him lifting his shirt up when they were chanting "You fat bastard" and waving at them when he went off was brilliant :D

Exactly the same at Scunthorpe. With added, Shhh which the ref didn't see.

Wasn't sure where to post this given the ridiculous amounts of threads on the same thing, but I've just seen the result and what a pleasant change. Can't speak for individual performances obviously, but another win is another win and I can only be happy with that. Really dissapointed to see the line-up though, any other manager wouldn't be starting Woolford. Nothing unexpected there though. I wonder if he's realised how poor he is. Either he has, and is strangely still playing him, or he hasn't, which is just unbelievable for a man watchimg him train most days.

Oh no, that killed it!

Anyway, for the record I too was puzzled by the continued selection of Woolford and said as much in the pub prior to kick-off.

But he actually had a bloody splendid game today and his cross for the third goal was an absolute peach so I'm just having to console myself with the fact that Mr Adkins knows more about football than I do and I'll just stick to writing about progressive rock as well as how I used to work for Tesco.

Why can't you speak for individual performances..on holiday?

Please. Fuck off. Woolford had a superb game for us, showed why he is picked if he can turn in performances like that with a bit of confidence about him. Read through a few threads tonight wondering where your pointless negative bile would appear.

"Can't speak for individual performances" but go on go berate woolford without seeing him play as you have sold your season ticket ha!

You must fucking hate it when we win and do so convincingly with a superb team effort.
