While appreciating other Blades efforts at being cheery etc., it's time for the blinkers to come off.
Although we deserved something against Leicester, we didn't get it and, before the game only the naive thought we would.
Ditto today. Some people thought we'd get something. I didn't. Our record at Ipswich is crap, and it's the manner of defeat that is so depressing. As soon as we go one-down, that is basically it. Watching the scores unfold all afternoon, I think we're the one team in England without a fightback in us. Obviously the sendings-off will further deplete us. But...
There is still time/matches to save it. Palace are picking up and I thought they would. They seem to unearth raw talent which will always see them through. Trouble is, a gap is now appearing which 3 points for us will not bridge.
The time has come. 4 points out of the next six is the minimum. If we can't manage that against 2 average teams at home, we deserve to go down.
The only thing cheering me up tonight is the thought that Wendy, with the massive slices of luck they're having at the moment, should be walking that pub-team league but are nearer relegation than the play-offs.
