I must admit the lack of activity in the transfer market was worrying me, but now I'm getting quite excited with regards to the new season. If you look at the squad, it's coming together nicely. We just need a decent goal keeper to replace Kenny, ant jobs a good'n.
Looks like we're going to be spoilt for choice up front. :)

I agree that things are looking alot more positive than they did last week, but I wouldn't say signing just a keeper would make the job a good one. Still plenty more work needs doing in my opinion (especially defensively) but if the signings continue in the same vain with regards to the standard of players we've signed, I will be confident that we can make a play-off push providing Blackwell plays the right way.

This club has got everyone so prozac'd up, we accept the old lines about agents and greed, lose our goalie - the best in the division bar none - sign a couple of rejects from Palace, Swansea and Barnsley and all of a sudden things are looking up? Sharp - our top scorer last season, will be off, most likely Henderson - our top scorer at the club, will be off (FLASHBACK: "We've already got his replacement at the club..."). we still havent fully addressed the CH or left-back positions, with basically just 20% of the defence that helped us make third place two seasons ago by scraping a few slender victories due to lack of firepower.

You've got to be embarrassed posting crap like that. Britton has been widely acknowledged as a quality performer at Swansea for several years & he spoke to 2 Premiership clubs (Wigan being one) before joining us. He was out of contract at Swansea and wasn't rejected. Bogdanovic was the Dingles top scorer and received several of their player of the season awards - he turned down an improved new contract from them so can hardly be called a reject. Henderson hasn't performed well enough during his time with us & can be a liability. I would give Sharp another chance though.

What's wrong with being happy about the few signings that have been made so far? I'm in no doubt that we still need to bring in more players and I expect some current players will move on. I will base the success of the off season on our squad at the start of the season/end of the transfer window and results on the pitch.

Time you thought about Prozac Muppet, err sorry I mean Puppet, sounds like you're a little depressed. :)

This week has certainly been a statement of our intentions, lots of people were moaning about the quiet couple of weeks, but looks like the only reason the lane was maintaining radio silence was because the powers that be have been finalising the signings.

Of course it means nothing if we can't get the players (and the rumoured players - if we sign them) to play together but its a start and getting a few lads in early on PERMANENT deals gives us a chance...

Lets hope for more of the same and better.

There may be a bit of momentum created too - a number of signings (both new players and existing players on new deals) have stated that when Morgan/Monty signed it made them realise we were serious about making a real go at it this year. It could be that other players we are linked with may see who has signed already and what they have said - giving them another reason to sign.

Or I could be talking a load of rubbish!

The signings of existing players on longer contracts, and the first of the new boys are quite a strong signal that there is some real intention to have a go at achieving something, and as always, if there is some momentum, other signing may be caught up in it. Leon Britton thinks this the place to be, so why not.

But, one swallow does not a summer make (nor a girlfriend...), and we are still a good four players short, and that is not allowing for the supposed deals for Hendo and Billy as is being suggested. It does look promising, but there are still four weeks to Malta, the point at which Blackwell said he wanted the squad together, so we'll just have to wait and see...

Even I am beginning to think positively. Just want KB to keep his mouth firmly shut until players have actually signed and need some of the rumours to be confirmed. I admit that I will not miss Kenny, and even Naysmith for a different reason. I did not consider Kenny the best in the decision....Speroni better even for me. Simonsen woluld be a great signing and make us stronger than before.(Less baggage too). I just hope that it is true that SE could be on the way out and with a bit more influence from Speed MBE even KB may change tactics...we can always hope. I find my depression lifting a bit and hope that it is not a false dawn.

mmmm we will see. And we need some more players that for sure. And it all depends on who we will sell.

ive heard a few rumours that elliss is on his way, hope so,dont like him.any truth in this foxy?

Good start to our transfer dealings, however, we have to, for me, buy at least 3 top players for the defence to stand any chance of being top 6.
