Media suggestions that he fears he could have played his last game in the MLS and maybe looking for a new challenge.

Worth a punt? ;)

It would be game chamging?

Not sure he would play for a batch of pukka pies.

Fit and not injured, he'd never pass our medical.

Every time an older great player becomes available I enter FM mode and think "I'd give him a two year contract, have him tutor the youths and he can play a few games for us before he decides to hang up his boots"

Depends whether by "new challenge" he means "one last massive payday" or "new challenge".

yeah - he could add to our list of faded and jaded superstars who have graced the Lane for a last few quid and done nothing for us - Ian Rush, Jimmy Johnstone etc. I think the za za zoom will want somewhere else.I hope so.

Ha. You cannot deny he is pure class, though.

Would be great to see him in a Blades shirt but, alas, I believe Division 3 in the English league is one of the last places he would have on his radar.

Maybe Jim Phipps has some connections in the USA that could suggest a last hurrah in Sheffield and tempt the French genius to put something back into the game at grass roots level as an altruistic gesture on Henry's behalf (well it is relative to the levels he plays at).

Do we still have a cafe-bar-restaurant named after him at the back of Cole Brothers?
That's a key selling point, surely ;)

Thing is, Henry is a millionaire many times over. Given that he doesn't need the money there is no way he would spend his time being hacked to death by third division cloggers.

Bring him in on a pay as you play contract, no matter what, he would still strike terror into league 1 defences seeing him strip off track suit to come on last 15 mins.
As for his pay, I would be sure his name even on subs bench would add 1000/1500 to the gate which would allow us to pay him a reasonable amount weekly and a big bonus if he helps us go up.
Added to that, as one of the best ever winger come strikers, imagine the things he could teach murphy, Flynn, JCR etc.
Infact a player/coach role might add interest to him.
I would take him today and play him tonight :)
Worth a punt, screw that, jim et al should be on the phone to his agent right now.
We will even serve French cuisine in the snack bars :)
Vive la Thierry UTB

If we kept on with the current passing style he'd not get anywhere near the opposing cloggers.

Gentlemen don't be silly. He has attributes that mean he will not fit into our side.
1) Pace .... even at 37 he's still quite quick
2) Strength
3) Can score goals
4) Movement off the ball and anticipation

Oh and he would cost money .......
UTB & FTP

not in his own half

I've been watching the Red Bulls and Henry is still absolute fucking class. He even has some pace left in those legs. He could still do a job as a supersub in the PL

And so he could. Anyone thinking that he would come to United is living in a Fantasy world

If we sign lower league Scots non League youngsters and donkeys, that wiil determine our status as a lower to mid table third division club. Henry, don't make. Me laugh. Look what we have brought in.

I agree but I only suggested it as it might be construed to be Game Changing Investment - and yes, the cuckoo's sing long and proud in my little world of fantasy and delusion - after all, I'm a Blade and I didn't laugh or invent things to laugh about I would be called Grumpy Blade - and no one wants that accolade, do they?
